* BrokenBase: Your enjoyment of the movies seems to hinge on whether or not you believe Syfy is in on the joke. If you think they are, and are deliberately making the movies SoBadItsGood as an homage to the B-Movies of yesteryear, you can find them very entertaining. If you think they don't, and are trying to play them painfully straight, you'll probably just find them depressing.
* FirstInstallmentWins: Not precisely ''the'' first, but while many of the later films are regarded as SoBadItsGood at their best, many of the most fondly remembered movies the channel has hosted came from the [=1990s=] and early [=2000s=]. Either because they used a combination of practical effects with some [=CGI=] when needed like in ''{{Film/Sabretooth}}'' or from very experienced filmmakers behind the effort such as Creator/RogerCorman helping to make ''{{Film/Dinocroc}}''.
* {{Narm}}: The only reason why people still tolerate Syfy films is because the horrible acting and terrible CGI will literally make you laugh your ass off.
* NarmCharm: Then again, some people like seeing gigantic crocodiles and sharks on television eating people and disregard the abysmal CGI.
* RetroactiveRecognition: ''Triassic Attack'' had Creator/EmiliaClarke as the film's protagonist, Savannah. Yes, ''that Emilia Clarke''.
* SoBadItsGood: A few of 'em. A number of them seem to ''invoke'' this, and those that seem to embrace it are usually the more enjoyable ones.
* SoOkayItsAverage: On a really, ''really'' good day they can achieve this. But considering that being really bad is part of their charm, this usually [[Administrivia/TropesAreTools isn't a good thing]].
* SpecialEffectsFailure: It's gotten much worse over the years. Eventually, the creators will start hiring people right out of high school to do the CGI. If they haven't already. The practical effects they also use are [[Administrivia/TropesAreTools not much better]], if not outright worse, than the CGI.
* TookTheBadFilmSeriously: Some of the actors actually do pull in decent performances for their roles. For example, ''Caved In: Prehistoric Terror'' has Creator/ChelanSimmons as a star, and she pulls in a decent performance as a surprisingly likeable and entertaining case of BrattyTeenageDaughter who actually becomes helpful. So does Creator/AngelaFeatherstone who plays the ActionMom of the film.
* SugarWiki/VisualEffectsOfAwesome: Once in a VERY long while, there will be a creature effect that actually looks presentable by made-for-tv standards. The wyvern CGI model and Frankenfish prop are examples of such. Some of the practical puppets used for the beetles in ''Caved In: Prehistoric Terror'' don't look too bad either.
