* {{Adorkable}}: Despite being a model, Super Sonico is socially awkward and introverted. [[GamerChick She's also an avid gamer]], and one of the ''VisualNovel/SoniComi'' endings shows her playing a game while using various geeky game terms. In addition, ''[=SoniComi=]'' and her official videos on [=YouTube=] showed that she greatly struggles with some physical exercises, even [[EpicFail getting exhausted after doing six or less consecutive pushups.]]
* BestKnownForTheFanservice:
** The anime was initially this trope but the {{Iyashikei}} and musical environments played a substantial role that side-tracked the fanservice.
** Sonico herself, for her bouncing, (again) initially. Although she is better known for her [[ImpossiblyCoolClothes headphones]].
* FandomEnragingMisconception: A minor one, but do not say that Sonico is a Vocaloid. See FandomRivalry and IAmNotShazam below.
* FandomRivalry:
** With the Music/{{Vocaloid}} fandom, due of IAmNotShazam issues mentioned below. And similar to the ''Literature/SwordArtOnline''-vs-''Literature/LogHorizon'' rivalry, many Sonico fans seems to be former Music/HatsuneMiku/Vocaloid fans, who began disliking them due to [[ItsPopularNowItSucks Miku's popularity and the "childishness" of the fandom]]. This has since died down, with Sonico and Miku having official collaborations in RealLife...
** As well as, in Episode 10, Super Sonico taking part in an advertising campaign for Hatsune Miku's Good Smile Racing collaboration, with absolutely no [[BlandNameProduct hiding it's Miku.]]
* FriendlyFandoms: With the Nitro+[=CHiRAL=] fanbase, due to the ''VisualNovel/DramaticalMurder'' anime adaptation airing in the same year as ''[=SoniAni=]'' and the fact that [[AllThereInTheManual Naitou-kun and Sonico get along]] LikeBrotherAndSister. It got to the point where Aoba is usually regarded as Sonico's true SpearCounterpart rather than Naitou-kun, and crossovers involving ''DMMD'' are becoming [[CommonCrossover common]]. It's even [[http://www.nitroplus.co.jp/staff/blog/201507/150703_4529.php noticed]] by the devs.
* HilariousInHindsight:
** Cosplayer Jessica Nigri had already portrayed Sonico before in cons. Later she ended up voicing her in the English dub as well.
** A ''VisualNovel/DramaticalMurder'' re:connect poster appeared in an episode. After ''[=SoniAni=]'' ended, the former was announced for an anime adaptation. Made even funnier when Ren actually shared his voice actor (Creator/RyotaTakeuchi) with Manager Kitamura.
* IAmNotShazam:
** Sonico is often mistaken as a Music/{{Vocaloid}} (probably due to her similarities with Hatsune Miku), sometimes specifically Megurine Luka (due to her Pink Hair and bouncy chest). It also helps that she had a CoverVersion album where she covers popular Vocaloid songs.
** The anime actually plays up the first part, when Sonico appears in one of Miku's press events.
* IKnewIt: Fans had correctly speculated that Super Sonico will get an English dub thanks to the numerous Twitter and Facebook promotion material from Creator/SentaiFilmworks. Fans had also correctly predicted the professional cosplayer, Creator/JessicaNigri, will be voicing the said title character due to her numerous Sonico cosplays and the fact that she was doing some voice work with Sentai Filmworks.
* LesYay
** Suzu often declares how lovely Sonico is, and really enjoys [[SkinshipGrope skinship]] with her. Sure, she claims she's only joking, but it happens often enough to become noticeable.
** Sonico herself seems to have formed a crush on her sempai Toma in high school. The guitar she got from Toma is a very important memento to her. Toma, in turn, seems to be rather interested in keeping track of Sonico's life, even though she never directly contacts her throughout the series.
* LetsJustBeFriends: In Episode 10, Sonico appears in a photo shoot prominently featuring Miku, almost like the production staff are trying hard to deal with the FandomRivalry the only way they can.
* {{Moe}}: Sonico herself.
* OlderThanTheyThink: Some accuse Sonico as a [[{{Expy}} Miku rip-off]] while in reality, Sonico was first introduced in October 2006, predating ''months'' before Hatsune Miku did (August 2007).
* PolishedPort:
** The Platform/PlayStation3 port of ''VisualNovel/SoniComi'', which has better 3D models than the PC version. Additionally, more bonus costumes are available in this version.
** The official English localization of the original PC version, which fixed the original's compatibility problems with Windows 8 and above. This version also uses 3D models from the [=PS3=] Port.
* TheyWastedAPerfectlyGoodPlot: Everything related to Toma-sempai, with regards to Sonico in the present day. They never really meet up, even when there's every opportunity to do so -- like during Sonico's live at the bar, and at the concert in the park in the final episode -- and Toma-sempai seems to be content leaving encouraging messages instead.
