All pilot's Spirit Points are restored to full and Will is maximized. The fight itself (thanks to the brutally overpowered {{Combination Attack}}s of the former two) can be ended in roughly two to three attacks, even on a SelfImposedChallenge run.
* DoingItForTheArt: [[spoiler: [[MartianSuccessorNadesico Gai Daigoji]] gets a brand-new update to his character portrait so that he matches with the other ''MartianSuccessorNadesico'' cast when the story moves to the ''Prince of Darkness'' plot]].
* EnsembleDarkhorse: The Ardygun family, as a whole for the OriginalGeneration of ''Super Robot Wars''. Fans have been clamoring for their inclusion in a future ''VideoGame/SuperRobotWarsOriginalGeneration'' instalment; see WildMassGuessing.
** ''W'', in general, is by far the most popular of the NintendoDS [=SRW=]s, and was the most popular handheld SRW until [[VideoGame/SuperRobotWarsZ Z2]] came along, with some having gone so far as to consider it the best SRW ''period'' when it was released. Literally the only real complaints concerned the lack of animated portraits (everyone gets a total of ''one'' portrait, even if they're laughing/sad/[[VillainousBreakdown flipping out]]/etc) and that the game could be a bit easy compared to previous titles, and that one's mostly due to certain units or unit groups being surprisingly easy to "[[GameBreaker break]]" simply through competent, average play.[[note]]The GaoGaiGar units and Ardygun family units being the biggest offenders in this regard.[[/note]]
* Expy: The 'Val' series of mechs are a clear nod to the SRX team. To whit:
** Valhawk: 'Leader' mech/[[MobileSuitZetaGundam Zeta Gundam expy]] (R-1)
** Valstork: BFG and FriendlyFireproof [[HerdHittingAttack MAP attack]] (R-2/R-3)
** Valguard: [[CombiningMecha Combined from the first two]] with finger lasers and energy-fist attacks (SRX)
** Valzacard: Final Upgrade and GameBreaker that uses a second mech as a weapon in its final attack (SRX-Altered)
* FridgeBrilliance: In mission 12 (NewGamePlus), Sosuke "defends the school festival from rival delinquents" by wiring the soccer pitch with enough bombs to kill a {{Robeast}} outright (discovered when [[ProperlyParanoid a pair of Robeasts attack the school, step on the pitch, and are killed outright by the blast]]). This seems like overkill, even for Sousuke, but keep in mind that in a given Super Robot Wars game, his baseline for "Delinquent" is ''Boss'', who, crappy as it may be, ''does'' have his own giant robot.
* FixFic: [[spoiler:Gai Daigoji, [[MartianSuccessorNadesico Tsukumo Shiratori]], [[TekkamanBlade Miyuki "Tekkaman Rapier" Aiba, Balzac Asimov]], and nearly everyone in ''MobileSuitGundamSEED'' survive; even [[LightNovel/FullMetalPanic Seina]] is given more CharacterDevelopment and a better death]].
* GameBreaker: See [[GameBreaker/SuperRobotWars here]] for details
* GoddamnedBats: The [[TekkamanBlade Radam Tekkamen]] are not only durable, but have high mobility and offensive weapons. Later, these units gain a second HP bar using units similar to [[TekkamanBlade Tekkaman Blade's Pegas]]. This also applies to the [[DetonatorOrgun Eyds]]. However, due to the amount of {{GameBreaker}}s and ''W'' being mostly an easy title, these units are considering annoying rather than actual threats anytime they appear.
* HoYay: The whole [[TekkamanBlade David Kruegel/Tekkaman Dead]] ordeal is commented on, but it's mostly "don't let [[MartianSuccessorNadesico Hikaru Amano]] [[YaoiFangirl find out about this]]!"
* MagnificentBastard: The entirety of the [[spoiler:[[Characters/SuperRobotWarsW Database]] and the creation of the Valzacard]] basically places [[spoiler:[[Characters/SuperRobotWarsW Blessfield Ardygun]]]] as this.
* NoKillLikeOverkill: ''EVERYTHING'' about the [[MidSeasonUpgrade Valzacard]]. For instance, it's most 'Basic' attack (the equivalent to a Gundam's [[CherryTapping Head Vulcans]] or the Mazinger's EyeBeams) is a City-Leveling WaveMotionGun.
* RunningGag: Kazuma's inability to get a date/girlfriend, in spite of being able to say some very flattering things to the girls of "Neue Wärter".
* ThatOneBoss: [[LightNovel/FullMetalPanic Gauron, Gates and Takuma]]. In short, if you're a named male villain from ''LightNovel/FullMetalPanic'', facing them ''will'' suck.
** While these bossess with their "Lambda Drive"-equipped units are deadly later in the late, they fail to keep up with the incoming {{GameBreaker}}s received. As dangerous as a Gauron is by being able to take two actions during an enemy turn, use Spirit Commands and weapons fueled by the Lambda Drive, he still can't keep up with a heavily upgraded "Valguard".
** Ankoku Daishogun, provided you want to gain a SecretCharacter: not only does he bring multiple sturdy {{mook}}s, each with StandardStatusEffect weaponry to fight you, he's extremely resilient and powerful. To make matters worse, you cannot use [[{{GaoGaiGar}} Big Volfogg]] for this stage (only normal [[{{GaoGaiGar}} Volfogg]]). This poses a challenge for a player doing a "[[SelfImposedChallenge No Upgrade Run]]" where the only way to destroy him in five turns is to fully abuse combining mechanics of the [[{{GaoGaiGar}} The Ryu robots]].
* TheWoobie[=/=]IronWoobie: Tekkaman Blade, so much that even [[{{GaoGaiGar}} Kotaro Taiga]] is outright terrified by his life experiences.
* WildMassGuessing: Fans tend to assume that because of the abilities of the Valzacard, it will fulfill the role of the [[SpaceRunawayIdeon Ideon]] if ''Original Generation'' gets to the events of ''[[VideoGame/SuperRobotWarsAlpha Super Robot Wars Alpha 3]]''.
