* AlternativeCharacterInterpretation:
** Some can be made for Stubbs.
*** Did Stubbs kill Punchbowl citizens who had nothing to do with his death because he blamed the entire town for what happened to him, or was it because they were in the way of his revenge?
*** Or, due to his surprising feats of sentience for a zombie, was he desperately weeding out possible allies of Otis Monday until he got to Otis Monday himself and then later decided to just take the rest of the town down to weed out any more potential allies to Otis?
*** Or, if we wanted to add an even bigger Tearjerker, due to the fact that Stubbs can feel emotions even as a zombie, was he trying to MercyKill the town to spare the citizens from Andrew Monday's iron fist?
*** Was he even able to comprehend the violence he was committing or was he oblivious to most if not all of it?
*** Or, as might be fitting for this game's tone, was he just hungry?
*** Was he going to kill Andrew Monday, or was he going to zombify Andrew in order to unite the family (minus the paranoid grandpa that was overprotective of his daughter to the point of murdering a man while she witnessed it, of course)?
** Some can also be made for Andrew Monday.
*** Was Andrew always a tyrannical asshole, or was he once a kind and fair mayor, but then later on he let the power go to his head?
*** Does Andrew actually love his mother, or was he just trying to protect his mother to maintain the status quo?
* SugarWiki/AwesomeMusic: The entire soundtrack, covering various 50s songs by various artists from the 2000s, such as Music/TheFlamingLips, Music/{{Cake}}, The Walkmen, and Phantom Planet.
** Rose Hill Drive's cover of Johnny Kidd and the Pirates' "Shakin' All Over" and Phantom Planet's "The Living Dead" are top of the pile here.
** That said, the song the mayor's bodyguards sing as you approach city hall manages to stand out.
** Nothing beats the covers of "Mr. Sandman" and "Lonesome Town" this game has.
** Although one would have to admit that Music/DeathCabForCutie's cover of "Earth Angel" is second to none.
* EsotericHappyEnding: Stubbs is reunited with the woman he loved when he was alive... and he eats her brain. Their son Andrew tries to kill him for revenge for everything Stubbs did, Stubbs beats him and Maggie (now a zombie) convinces him to spare Andrew. The entire town of Punchbowl is now in ruins overrun with zombies and the ever dwindling living humans. The US military nukes the city before Andrew can escape, while Stubbs and Maggie escape in time on a boat, meaning the ZombieApocalypse has spread beyond Punchbowl. Happy ending?
* HilariousInHindsight:
** This game has "Lollipop" by the Chordettes in its soundtrack (Albeit sung by men instead of women) and is about a Zombie apocalypse. What [[VideoGame/LollipopChainsaw other game that has to do with zombies]] has the same song?
** In a bit of a downplayed version, [[spoiler:[[LetsPlay/TheRunawayGuys Press "R" to pee]] might sound familiar to LetsPlay viewers]].
** This game has an obnoxious, stubborn, and well-meaning albeit misguided character named Otis. Cut to 2006, where a different zombie video game titled ''VideoGame/DeadRising'' features an obnoxious character who happens to be named Otis as well. Thankfully, though, at least the Otis in Dead Rising is NOT a paranoid lunatic, and he does NOT commit murder.
* JustHereForGodzilla: You are forgiven if you just listen to the soundtrack, which consists of oldie covers by 2000s indie bands, all of them of high quality.
