* EnsembleDarkhorse: She's the most prominent and popular black superhero of all time, and Marvel's most prominent female superhero.
* EscapistCharacter: One of the most overtly escapist in the entire Franchise/X-Men mythos.
* FanPreferredCouple: Her and Wolverine Logan. Fans of the pairing cite that OppositesAttract, and that her reserve and idealism would balance out his AntiHero tendencies, while his more earthy, passionate nature would keep her stable and grounded.
** AscendedFanon: One What-If issue had the X-Men long since trapped on another planet where Logan and she have a child.
* FetishFuelStationAttendant: A Blond white-haired queen with junk in the trunk, the MostCommonSuperpower, and legs that go on for days (which factor into her impressive height) who, up until recently, had a penchant for going out in the nude... a lot. She loves gardening, reading, and flying through the rain naked.
* LesYay: With Callisto, her rival for leadership of the Morlocks, and Yukio, a Japanese thief.
* MarySue: In a similar vein to Film/MaryPoppins, Storm's qualification for this is proof that TropesAreNotBad. However, being exotically beautiful, fantastically powerful even by superhero standards, a master hand-to-hand combatant, a gifted leader, and beloved by everyone who meets her (even the bad guys) is going to create this impression.
** Writers adding things like being related to ancient Egyptian wizards and coming from the bloodline of the first shamans doesn't help matters either.
* MyRealDaddy: Len Wein and Dave Cockrum created Storm, but it was Creator/ChrisClaremont who developed the character.
* [[spoiler: With the much hyped post [[Comicbook/AvengersVsX-Men [=AvX=] ]] merger featuring more ComicBook/X-Men characters joining various 'ComicBook/TheAvengers' team, the reason given for the upcoming dissolution of the Black Panther - Storm marriage (not being able to feature the two characters in the same book) comes off as FalseDichotomy. Fans have emerged on both sides of the issue some vocal ones that never warmed to the relationship favoring the break and others that feel the relationship never got the chance to be handled properly.]]
** The fact that one of the first things she does really doesn't help things.
* UnfortunateImplications: ComicBook/BlackPanther informs Storm that while they're beating the crap out of each other. There's some awkward domestic abuse subtext going on.
** The most first and most prominent black mutant/superhero has straight white hair and blue eyes.
