* AccidentalAesop: The music video for "The Burden of Being Wonderful" is about an underachieving guy who believes himself to be completely awesome. Although most people will laugh at the guy, some fans have actually interpreted the music video as having a positive message: basically, it's about a man who has learned to be happy with who he is instead of relying on validation from other people. And at the end of the video, the guy even manages to hook up with an attractive young woman.
** Fat Girl can also be interpreted as simply meaning fat women can be lovable too.
* AlternativeCharacterInterpretation: Amusingly several critics and even individuals who've met them claim they shouldn't be considered a parody band at all. They simply ''are''.
* CrossesTheLineTwice: Some critics feel they take jokes too far. Fans on the other hand, love the fact they frequently do this.
* FandomRivalry: With indie rock band Braids, after a controversy in which their lead singer/guitarist Raphaelle Standell-Preston supported a petition to get Satchel's TC Electronic signature pedal pulled from the market for having a "sexist name." Not helping it was Steel Panther thanking Preston for "free publicity", and Preston writing a ''Pitchfork'' op-ed in which she essentially accused the band of using EqualOpportunityOffender status as a shield for legitimate sexism and racism, while [[NeverMyFault denying she was trying to censor the band]] and [[SmallNameBigEgo essentially self-praising her own music towards the end]].
* GermansLoveDavidHasselhoff: Considered a novelty act in their native US, where they usually have to tour with more known bands to fill up an arena. However overseas in Europe they can sell out five and ten-thousand seat arenas as the headliner and draw 20,000 at a festival stage. They're even bigger in Australia where ''All You Can Eat'' peaked at #2 on the charts, and would have gone to number one had native sons Music/{{INXS}} not released a greatest hits album that week. It helps that, in Europe, most of the post-1992 HairMetal bands are from European countries, as a result Steel Panther wound up fitting in nicely with acts such as Music/TheDarkness and Crashdïet.
* SignatureSong: "Death to all but Metal"
** "Community Property"
* SongAssociation: "Eyes of a Panther" appears in ''VideoGame/{{Skate}} 3''
