* BrokenBase: ''[[VideoGame/{{StarOceanTillTheEndOfTime}} Till the End of Time]]'''s plot twist has split the fanbase to this very day.
* ContrivedCoincidence: The one planet you crash land on just so happens [[spoiler: to have the keystone to the entire galaxy on it, AND the only access point to the Eternal Sphere's equivalent of a debug room.]]
* CrazyAwesome: No matter how much you hate him in gameplay, there's no denying that Adray Lasbard is this.
* CrowningMusicOfAwesome: [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PWDUvkgSXx0 "The Divine Spirit of Language"]]. Doubles as AutobotsRockOut. Also [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GVZuVEwnZIQ "Highbrow"]], an impressive, 10-minutes long piece of art. It is to be expected when MotoiSakuraba is doing the composing.
** Hell, even the normal [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kFj-zNYb9n4 battle theme]] is made of win! It's refreshing that despite all the boring RPG battle themes out there, this one can get you pumped up for each and every battle.
** [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ia93yr8SllE&hd=1 "Mission to the Deep Space"]] is the song that plays in almost all of the bonus dungeons.
* {{Die For Our Ship}}: Sophia receives this treatment most of the time from fans that wish to pair Fayt with someone else.
* DracoInLeatherPants: Many fanfiction revolving around Albel tend to downplay his negative personality traits.
* {{Ensemble Darkhorse}}: Albel is by far the most popular character in the game. When having to choose between who will be your 7th party member, many people will choose him.
** Clair is also pretty popular considering that she never joins the party.
* FanPreferredCouple: LauncherOfAThousandShips Albel Nox has three big ones: [[FoeYay Albel]]x[[GuyOnGuyIsHot Fayt]] (speaks for itself), [[FoeYay AlbelxNel]] (pairing the two Elicoorians, who for bonus points were bitter enemies throughout most of disc 1), or [=AlbelxMaria=], who's more or less the only party member who doesn't [[TheFriendNobodyLikes inherently dislike or openly disparage him]]. From a meta standpoint, Maria starts off with bizarrely high affection points for him while Albel has a high initial affection score for Nel that she very much does not reciprocate.
** On a ([[ShippingGoggles mostly]]) non-romantic note, the [=FaytxCliff=] ending is usually seen as the most satisfying since it actually goes into what the post-game world would actually be like following everything that happened.
* FridgeBrilliance:
** The fact that the names are so [[AwesomeMcCoolName awesome McCool]] can be chalked up to the fact [[spoiler: that it's an RPG. Think about some of the names you give your RPG characters.]]
** The infamous plot twist also neatly explains the frequency of [[HumanAliens human aliens]] in the setting. [[spoiler: The designers of the Eternal Sphere would want their players to be able to relate to and connect with their characters. For most players, that means a character that looks mostly human.]]
* GameBreaker: It's an art for ''so many'' players to find the fastest and most efficient ways to remove any challenge from the games. In ''Till the End of Time'', for example, doing so will almost certainly involve either Orichalcum or the Boots of Prowess, depending on where you are in the game.
** These features, though, are almost required on the higher difficulties (especially 4D).
* HarsherInHindsight: Lots of people give Fayt grief for his insistence on the obeying the [=UP3=]; it's a [[RunningGag running gag]]. When you play ''[[VideoGame/StarOceanTheLastHope The Last Hope]]'', [[EarthShatteringKaboom which explains the reason why the UP3 was established]], all that joking is no longer funny and Fayt comes off as the most reasonable of the bunch.
* HoYay: Albel and Fayt, especially if you get their ending together.
** Fayt and Cliff too for the first half or so of Elicoor. Just watch their [[LikeAnOldMarriedCouple duplicates]] in the [[BonusDungeon Urssa Cave Temple]].
* ItWasHisSled: Go ahead and try to find someone who doesn't know the infamous plot twist.
* LesYay: Nel and Clair. At one point, they [[http://manga.animea.net/star-ocean-till-the-end-of-time-chapter-14-page-6.html share a hug]] that ''especially'' plays this up in the manga adaptation.
* {{Moe}}: Sophia and Peppita.
* NeverLiveItDown: Many fans still have trouble getting over the infamous plot twist.
* TheScrappy: Both of Nel's subordinates: Tynave and Farleen. Their English voices ''make it worse''. Tynave's voice is perfectly fine, but listening to Farleen would have you swear that the air of Elicoor II was full of helium.
** Adray is considered by many to be an unnecessary addition to the ''Director's Cut''/overseas versions. This is due to him being (barely) shoehorned into the plot and is forced into your party, which prevents you from recruiting all of the characters that you want. His subpar and overall awkward combat performance also earns him a lot of hate. The fact that he joins you instead of the actually important fan favorite Clair only makes things worse.
* ShockingSwerve: If you've played it, or even read a few spoilers, you'll know.
* ThatOneLevel: The Shrine of Kaddan, [[spoiler: ''both'' times!]]
* TheyChangedItNowItSucks: Many fans of the series, especially of ''[[VideoGame/StarOceanTheSecondStory The Second Story]]'', hate ''Till the End of Time'' for the changes it made to the item creation system and other aspects, besides the infamous plot twist. To be fair, most of the hate is not due to the fact that it was changed, but due to the new systems being unwieldy, overly dependent on randomness, insanely expensive, and very frustrating.
* TheyWastedAPerfectlyGoodPlot: The infamous plot twist was wasted; it might have fared much better if it was used for something else. Such as [[spoiler: having an ally turn out to be a player character mole or examining the impact common MMORPG behavior would actually ''have'' on its universe.]]
* ViewerGenderConfusion: More than one person has been confused by Albel's gender. Must be that sarong, his [[ShesGotLegs nice]] [[ZettaiRyouiki legs]], and the PantyShot.
