In fact, because the release of The Natural History's album ''People That We Meet'' was held back for a few years for contractual reasons, Spoon's cover came out before the original by a matter of months - though seemingly to offset this effect, when Spoon released "Don't You Evah" as a single, one of the {{B Side}}s was The Natural History version.
