* SugarWiki/AwesomeMusic: Why else would Music/Spiderland be so influential? Highlights of the album include:
** The part of "Don, Aman," in which raging electric guitars burst into the mix.
** The chorus of "Nosferatu Man."
** The ending of "Good Morning, Captain," with Brian's famous "I MISS YOU!" screams.
** The untitled EP is also pretty great (if not quite as great as Spiderland), and the currently unreleased "King's Approach" is probably on par with Spiderland.
* MemeticMutation: It's a given that any picture of people swimming will eventually get turned into Spiderland covers. Here's two examples.
* ParanoiaFuel: Spiderland seems designed to invoke either this ("Don, Aman") or outright NightmareFuel.
* SpiritualSuccessor: After Slint dissolved, bands like Rodan, June of 44, and Shipping News picked up where they left off, developing their own unique takes on the band's distinctive sound. Rodan in particular have a reputation as being "Slint with a female vocalist", as not only do they sound extremely similar, but they also share a weirdly similar career trajectory of releasing one critically acclaimed album with six tracksOne of which is an instrumental, while the rest use SpokenWordInMusic before permanently dissolving and moving on to other projects. The bassist of Shipping News, Todd Cook, would eventually join Slint themselves onstage for their 2005 reunion shows.
* TearJerker: "Washer" by far is their most depressing song.
* ToughActToFollow: Arguably one of the reasons that the band has never pushed out a third album, the same can be said with the live performances simply because Spiderland is a strange album to emulate live.
