* AlternativeCharacterInterpretation: Was Sinbad genuinely chauvinistic and ungrateful toward Marina, or was he deliberately trying to taint her opinion of him to prevent her from falling in love with him, considering how [[spoiler: Sinbad and Proteus drifted apart due to the former's love towards Marina]]?
* SugarWiki/AwesomeArt: The backgrounds and visual effects are ''[[https://seraphsfire.tumblr.com/post/142781802934/favourite-movies-sinbad-legend-of-the-seven absolutely]]'' ''[[http://seraphsfire.tumblr.com/post/74814273229/brandyalexanders-sinbad-legend-of-the-seven stunning]]''.
** Special mention goes to Eris' animation, especially the unnatually water-like fluidity of her body and hair as she moves.
* BadassDecay: Sinbad and his crew show some pretty impressive ass-kicking abilities when raiding Proteus's ship... which they never really get an opportunity to use after that.
* CultClassic: Barely remembered in popular consciousness, it still has a small group of loyal fans.
* EvilIsCool: Eris' interesting personality and powers earned her way more fans than the actual heroes. It wouldn't be an exaggeration to say plenty of people watch this film just for her.
* FoeYayShipping: Eris/Sinbad and Eris/Marina both have fans, as well as Eris/Proteus ([[ShipsThatPassInTheNight never mind that they never once directly interact]]).
* HoYay:
** Kale and Sinbad: "Kale... Give me a hug?"
** Sinbad and Proteus seem unable to take their eyes off each other in most scenes they're both in.
* JustHereForGodzilla: Eris is very popular in fandom, to a point that many only watch this movie for her.
* LauncherOfAThousandShips: Pun ''absolutely'' intended.
** Marina is a very popular character with the FanVid CrossoverShip community. She's been shipped with most traditionally animated Franchise/DisneyAnimatedCanon main characters and with a good portion of Disney-eque ones too, such as Odette from ''WesternAnimation/TheSwanPrincess'' and Dimitri from ''WesternAnimation/{{Anastasia}}''.
** While not quite as popular as Marina, Sinbad is popular with shippers too thanks to his handsome design.
** Eris is one of these to animated villains. However, she also gets shipped a lot [[AngelDevilShipping with heroes]] as well.
* LGBTFanbase:
** Marina and especially Eris have a large number of fangirls.
** On the guys' side, we have Sinbad, Proteus and Kale, definitely helped by the HoYay among them.
* MagnificentBastard: Eris, Goddess of Discord, steals the Book of Peace from the kingdom of Syracuse and frames Sinbad for the theft, causing his friend Prince Proteus to take his place on deaths row to allow Sinbad to retrieve the book. Eris sends numerous obstacles Sinbad's way that he and his crew only narrowly survive, before eventually revealing that she had stolen the book as part of a ploy to maneuver Proteus into Sinbad's place at the execution, leaving Syracuse without an heir and causing the kingdom to fall to ruin. She tears Sinbad down and breaks him to the point that he truly believes her perception of him as a black-hearted liar is correct, and when Sinbad proves his heroism by going back to Syracuse to take Proteus' place, Eris stays true to her word and returns the book to him, but not before promising that she'll still be causing chaos and strife down the line.
* OneTrueThreesome: There is some rather heavy subtext between Sinbad/Marina/Proteus. While Proteus/Marina and Sinbad/Marina are both canonical, the two men bear no jealousy towards each other. Proteus blindly trusts Sinbad to save his life, and they spend a lot of time embracing and staring into each other's eyes. Really, the only reason Proteus couldn't follow them to sea was because of his duties as Prince of Syracuse.
* StrangledByTheRedString: To a degree. Marina goes from disliking Sinbad to realizing he's her true love after just a few days. [[spoiler:Also, Sinbad once had a LoveAtFirstSight with Marina and still loves her after what's approximately 10-15 years later, despite never having known her.]]
* {{Squick}}: When Spike ''licks'' some of the eye liquid of a monster.
* TheyWastedAPerfectlyGoodPlot: The DVD includes a separate animated short, "Cyclops Island" (involving the heroes having a wacky adventure [[ExactlyWhatItSaysOnTheTin on an island full of Cyclopes)]] which is set ''immediately'' after the end of the film. On the VHS release, however, the last scene of the film transitions directly to the beginning of the short, with the credits after both. This incongruous little stinger at the end of the film works ''[[SugarWiki/BetterThanItSounds so much better than you'd think it would,]]'' ending the film on one last gloriously silly swashbuckling adventure scene, in which yes, the rest of the crew ''does'' get to kick some monster butt. It's really a shame that the official version of the film doesn't end this way (since, after all, who's going to get to see the VHS version these days?).
%%* ValuesDissonance: This film whitewashes the Arab characters by giving them all a RaceLift so that they are Mediterranean. The film got some flak for this back in the early 2000s, but there would almost certainly be even more controversy if it was done today.
* SugarWiki/VisualEffectsOfAwesome: Eris's animation is ''gorgeous.'' The film also made very good use of its blend of CGI, adding in ''plenty'' of SceneryPorn. The awesome is enhanced by the fact that ''Sinbad'' was the first feature film of any kind made ''entirely'' in Platform/{{Linux}}. ''And'' in 2003, when Linux was severely lacking in the "filmmaking software" department.
* TheWoobie: Proteus. He almost loses his life for Sinbad's favor and loses his fiancée to him. The fact he takes it all in good stride makes him an IronWoobie.
