''Wing'''s final episode aired roughly nine months prior to this game's release. For perspective, there was only a three-month gap between the last episode of ''Anime/MobileFighterGGundam'' and the release of ''VideoGame/{{Super Robot Wars 2}}G'' and the latter still managed to loosely adapt one of ''G Gundam's'' final episodes.
* ComplacentGamingSyndrome: The game has individually-upgradable weapons - as a result, players will likely use one regular-duty post-movement weapon that does not consume ammo or EN, and one "big gun" for dispatching {{Elite Mook}}s or bosses.
* ScrappyMechanic: ''Shin'' adds [[SuperMovePortraitAttack cut-ins, close up character portraits]], and long cut-scenes to its attack animations. This turns out to be a double-edged sword because like older titles before the release of ''VideoGame/SuperRobotWarsAlpha'', animations are still unskippable. When running at default speed, the load times and animations are atrociously long and unbearable. Much of the poor reputation of ''Shin'' stems from this.
