* SugarWiki/AwesomeMusic: The FinalBoss theme, [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vgi0B6Hapyo "The Justice Ray Part 3"]]. It was originally from Tecnosoft's cancelled Dreamcast game ''VideoGame/ThunderForce VI''.
* HarsherInHindsight: The entire game is this when you realize that in real life Sega was completely crushed in this iteration of the console wars and would never again make another console. Worse, by the time this game was made, it was already obvious that Sega was losing, so the whole thing is essentially fantasizing about a miracle that never came.
* HilariousInHindsight:
** One programmer is convinced that to run a game company, one has to see what other game companies' successes are and copy them as close as legally possible. While this practice has been in existence far longer than ''Segagaga'', it's never been more evident than today's flood of mobile games with very similar premises and gameplay mechanics.
** One of the parody games Taro can produce is ''To Hato'', a parody of ''VisualNovel/ToHeart''. "To Hato" means "Ten Pigeons," and, appropriately, is a DatingSim where the (human) main character dates pigeons. Many years later, ''VisualNovel/HatofulBoyfriend'' was created, whose premise is exactly that. Taro's spirit lives on.
* TearJerker: [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sNiHxnB9urs Alex Kidd's monologue.]] He's forced to work as a store clerk for SEGA after his games bomb, purely because, as a game character, he is physically unable to move his life forward without someone controlling him. No one in the entire world is playing an Alex Kidd game anymore, and so he's stuck there. And yet, he manages to be motivational and positive about all of it, inspiring Taro to never give up and not holding any resentment for Sonic becoming a successful mascot.
