!! ''Secret Squirrel'':

* SuspiciouslySimilarSong: The series' theme song apes the ''Film/JamesBond'' theme.

!! ''Super Secret Secret Squirrel'':

* AdaptationDisplacement: This is sometimes claimed by some people, although in this case, one might question it. If you were, for example, watching it in the 1990s on Cartoon Network, the channel played both the original and new versions quite often. Managing to miss one or the other seems a bit hard. On the other hand, if you only saw this version on Creator/{{TBS}} or in syndication before CN was widely available, in which case it's a bit more understandable. CN was not so widely available as it would be towards the end of the decade. As a result, some shows whose reruns were less seen by then may have been out of reach to some 1990s kids more than others.
* SugarWiki/AwesomeArt: The redesigns for Secret and Morocco are very stylish. The show's whole aesthetic fits right in with early 1990s Creator/CartoonNetwork.
* SugarWiki/AwesomeMusic: Pretty much all the music. The main theme is only about five seconds long (and transitioning away from the intro to ''WesternAnimation/TwoStupidDogs''), but it sets the tone for the show: sleek, cool, and awesome.
* EvenBetterSequel: It is widely agreed that this version is better than the original. For example, it has slicker animation, redesigns, and introduced a wide variety of memorable characters. Secret also becomes a cool, suave quick-thinker, as opposed to the bumbling egotist he was in the 1960s.
* FridgeHorror: At the end of "Hot Rodney", Secret tricks Rodney into taking the dynamite belt he'd put on Morocco which then detonates. Did Secret just kill a guy?
* GeniusBonus: Morocco Mole's evil twin brother is named Scirocco. A scirocco is a Mediterranean wind that comes from the Sahara and can reach hurricane speeds in North Africa, where the country of Morocco is located.
* HilariousInHindsight:
** One short had a platypus as the bad guy targeted by a secret agency. Years later, ''WesternAnimation/PhineasAndFerb'' has Perry the Platypus, who works for a secret agency.
** The Chief is a buffalo. Years later, Creator/{{Disney}}'s ''WesternAnimation/{{Zootopia}}'' had police chief Bogo, who was also a buffalo.
* JerkassWoobie: Greg the Gingerbread Man. Sure, he's a deeply embittered and vengeful villain who cares little about the protagonists, but many admit that his own disturbing death was a bit over the top.
* {{Shipping}}: Secret and Penny.
%%* SpecialEffectFailure: A few of the episodes were colored and composited digitally with the (now incredibly dated) computerized system Hanna-Barbera used on many of their shows at the time. Resulting in several elements looking blurry or poorly pasted into the shot.
* TooGoodToLast: Despite many believing this version to be even better than the original, it only had half as many episodes as the original.
