* BigLippedAlligatorMoment: Asou and Suga spotting Eri in the school war two-parter. [[spoiler:Actually it was Nakamura, who [[IWasJustPassingThrough simply happened around the school]], dressed as his mistress for no apparent reason]].
* EarWorm:
** You'll be going "Guru Guru Mawaru" in no time.
** Not to mention the super-cute first ending theme.
** Then there's the second end theme of Ni Gakki, Futari Ha Wasurechau. That guitar riff will stick with you forever.
* EnsembleDarkhorse: Eri & Yakumo.
* FanonDiscontinuity: Some fans are unsure about the canonicity of the end of both the original manga and ''School Rumble Z'', and not just for shipping reasons either.
* FanPreferredCouple: According to [[http://unixmanga.com/onlinereading/School_Rumble/School_Rumble_b/School_Rumble_Popularity_Contests_nas.html this poll]], the most popular couple is Harima and Eri.
* IdiosyncraticShipNaming: Tons here. Flag (Eri/Harima), Riceball (Yakumo/Harima), Kid's meal (Eri/Yakumo/Harima), Oudou (Tenma/Harima), True Oudou (Tenma/Karasuma), Flue (Mikoto/Hanai), and Basketball (Mikoto/Asou).
* LesYay: Eri and Yakumo make up after the play in the second season with a fast-paced dance that ends up with Yakumo coming out on top in a surprise reversal. [[http://img233.imageshack.us/img233/3971/snapdanceack5.jpg The crowd goes wild.]]
** Not to mention Itoko being very close with fellow teacher Youko Sasakura.
*** Yakumo is a frequent victim courtesy of Akira and Sarah.
** Akira in general hints heavily towards other girls.
* {{OT3}}: The Kid's Meal faction (for those just passing by, that's Yakumo/Eri/Harima). By the end of the manga, [[spoiler:Yakumo is living with Harima, and Harima is engaged to Eri. [[GainaxEnding Maybe]]]].
* MarySue: Yakumo has her moments. She has telepathy when nobody else in the manga has powers like that, has boys (and girls) gushing over how beautiful she is almost constantly, is a FriendToAllLivingThings, an excellent student and becomes involved in the most prominent LoveTriangle of the series with Eri and Harima. It's especially jarring when Tenma is supposed to be the main character. Might be part of the GenreDeconstruction, since everyone likes her better than [[ButtMonkey Tenma]].
* SuperlativeDubbing: The English dub is masterfully crafted; it contains countless {{Woolseyism}}s and every performance is perfect.
* UnfortunateImplications: Lala Gonzalez, a Mexican, is depicted as a ProfessionalWrestling violent brute who speaks Japanese with an accent, compared with Tougou, Harry, and Sarah (American, British, and British, respectively) who speak Japanese without one, and who are depicted more positively than her (Although Harry is depicted as Harima's rival, due of his name and personality)
