* BigLippedAlligatorMoment: Asou and Suga spotting Eri in the school war two-parter. [[spoiler:It was Nakamura, who [[IWasJustPassingThrough simply happened around the school]], dressed as his mistress for no apparent reason. The closest we get to a reason is that he was trying to help Eri's team win. Why that required he dress like her though is unclear.]]
* EnsembleDarkhorse:
** Harry [=McKenzie=] is very popular despite getting relatively little screen time. Being a CharClone and walking talking ShoutOut to one of the most popular anime characters will do that.
** Originally a supporting character, Yakumo Tsukamoto eventually went on to decisively take the #1 spot in the third and final official popularity vote. On the SR wiki, she continues to hold the second-highest spot only to Harima.
* FanonDiscontinuity: Some fans are unsure about the canonicity of the end of both the original manga and ''School Rumble Z'', and not just for shipping reasons either.
* HilariousInHindsight: At one point in the dub, Tenma [[AccidentalMisnaming misnames]] Karen as "Carrie" which also happens to be the name of her [[Creator/CarrieSavage dub VA]].
* IdiosyncraticShipNaming: Tons here. Flag (Eri/Harima), Riceball (Yakumo/Harima), Kid's meal (Eri/Yakumo/Harima), Oudou (Tenma/Harima), True Oudou (Tenma/Karasuma), Flue (Mikoto/Hanai), and Basketball (Mikoto/Asou).
* IronWoobie: Harima definitely qualifies as one. Saved Tenma from thugs, fell in love as result and was mistaken for a pervert instants latter. Then started to wear sunglasses to avoid being recognized by her and tried everything which he could do to win her heart. [[spoiler: He failed but he never complained about his luck]].
* LesYay:
** Eri and Yakumo make up after the play in the second season with a fast-paced dance that ends up with Yakumo coming out on top in a surprise reversal. [[http://img233.imageshack.us/img233/3971/snapdanceack5.jpg The crowd goes wild.]]
** Not to mention Itoko being very close with fellow teacher Youko Sasakura.
*** Yakumo is a frequent victim courtesy of Akira and Sarah.
** Akira in general hints heavily towards other girls.
** Tenma makes Mikoto play a kissing game involving Pocky with Akira. The Pocky breaks last second and even the other girls in class lament that the kiss didn't happen.
** Background character Ayano Kinugawa, whose family owns a bathhouse, seems far more interested in watching her female classmates undressing/bathing, whereas, with the guys, her response could be called blase at best.
* {{OT3}}: The Kid's Meal faction (for those just passing by, that's Yakumo/Eri/Harima). By the end of the manga, [[spoiler:Yakumo is living with Harima, and Harima is engaged to Eri. [[GainaxEnding Maybe]]]].
* SugarWiki/SuperlativeDubbing: The English dub is masterfully crafted; it contains countless {{Woolseyism}}s and every performance is perfect.
* WhatDoYouMeanItsNotForKids: Even though the show has a cute art style and once aired on a channel for children's shows, it has adult themes, like a scene in which some of the characters watch what appears to be an adult video. The station that aired the show got fined for airing a show that wasn't kid-friendly.
