* CompleteMonster -- Most Yamiko would be this, but have the solid excuse of being nothing more than a raging ball of id. Radon, however, plays it very straight. Even after having his mind cleared by the priestess he remains a treacherous, backstabbing [[TheStarscream Starscream]]. When pretending to be one of the good guys he still comes off as a total KnightTemplar, and following his return to villainy he crosses the MoralEventHorizon in about ten seconds flat. He's also an arrogant, unpleasant SmugSnake and JerkAss extraordinare.
* HilariousInHindsight: A grimdark magical girl story with a manipulative recruiter disguised as a benevolent being tricking girls into becoming magical girls, who are then forced to fight for their lives? [[PuellaMagiMadokaMagica Seems familiar.]]
* HypeBacklash: For some, especially those more familiar with modern fanfic conventions (ie exhaustively researching Japanese culture) or more recent deconstructions of the genre.
* MagnificentBastard: One could make a solid case for Argon, who has the three base tropes--{{Trickster}}, ManipulativeBastard, and {{Chessmaster}}--down pat. He's also a LargeHam, a deconstruction of the NobleDemon, and a FauxAffablyEvil MadArtist distinguished by his GenreSavvy and UndyingLoyalty to the Yamiko queen.
* NightmareFuel -- The six-year-old girl's Yamiko. [[spoiler:The Super Yamiko. The fate of Ami.]]
** That six-year-old with a ''pencil''.
---> "All I ever wanted was someone to play with, and they never would. Now you're trying to hurt me, too, and I have to hurt you back..."
* UnfortunateImplications: The RapeAsDrama plot device is used WAY too much for many people's taste.
* TheWoobie -- Poor Himei. Poor, poor Himei.
** JerkassWoobie: Himei's pitiable, but also a bit mean.
