* SugarWiki/AwesomeMusic: Being scored by Creator/YasunoriMitsuda (his second project), it should come as no surprise that the soundtrack is phenomenal. What is surprising is just how cinematic and atmospheric it manages to be, despite the limitations of its 16-bit hardware and SNES sound chip, being just as great as ''VideoGame/ChronoTrigger''[='s=]. Several of the best songs were alluded to or repackaged wholesale for ''VideoGame/ChronoCross'' (see the MusicalNod entry on that page for more details), but some - such as "Days of Summer", "Final Confrontation", and "The Organ" - are unique to this game. Of the songs reappearing in ''Chrono Cross'', "Gale" is vastly superior to its counterpart in ''Chrono Cross'' and the original renditions of "The Girl Who Stole The Stars" and "Frozen Frame" are just as great as their ''Chrono Cross'' versions as well, it helps that they're used in the most climatic scenes of the game where [[spoiler:Kid's past life as Schala is revealed]].
* CultClassic: Prior to its inclusion in the UpdatedRerelease only the most hardcore ''Chrono''/JRPG fans knew of and played this game (and even then it's still fairly niche among fans of the genre), and the majority that did considered it a hidden gem of the Satellaview [=SNES=] add-on and appreciated it as a great cinematic and atmospheric VisualNovel.
* HarsherInHindsight: The Kid and the Sunflower scenario can end with [[spoiler: Kid's soul being sealed into a knife and Magil performing a ritual in order to reincarnate her, listing several of the possible species - and in particular suggesting the [[VideoGame/ChronoTrigger Lavoid]] - wait, did you just create the [[VideoGame/ChronoCross Time Devourer]]?]]
* SugarWiki/HeartwarmingMoments:
** The main story's ending is this in part: although Kid and Magil depart from Serge, [[spoiler: Kid has regained her memory as Schala Zeal, with the established revelation that Magil was her brother Janus (Magus) all along. ]] Considering that ''VideoGame/ChronoCross'' largely fails to deliver on all of this, it's nice to see that there is at least one Chrono canon where [[spoiler: Schala's fate]] was not only resolved, but [[spoiler: Magus's search for her actually paid off in full, returning to him the big sister he cared so much for.]] Now if only the heartfelt moment could happen in-game, ''before'' leaving Serge behind, so we could actually see it...
** Truthfully, Magil in general if you compare the game to ''VideoGame/ChronoTrigger''. Even before the end of the game, not only has he clearly mellowed out ''a lot'' as of late, but the scene with Radius suggests he feels some guilt over his actions as [[spoiler: Magus]], and when questioned about [[spoiler: Glenn]], while not sure if he should consider him a friend, he states that he doesn't consider him an enemy, at the least. Awww....
*** At one point early on, Magil chastises Kid for focusing on vengeance. Considering the uncanny parallels in their tragic origins, it seems Magil is trying to keep [[spoiler: his big sister]] ''from repeating his mistakes.''
* TearJerker: Quite a few of the stories have these, including the main one.
