* SugarWiki/AwesomeMusic: Much of the show's background music was done in-house. Many of the show's original songs would take on MemeticMutation beyond the show itself.
** "World of Warcraft Is A Feeling," "Straight Outta Blood Gulch," "The Noob Song," etc.
* BigLippedAlligatorMoment: Not moment per se, so much as the villains Big Bad and "The Spy" looking older compared to the rest of the cast.
** "The Story of Dave" had a fairly confusing narrative about the character's backstory.
** The scene where Jeremy [[spoiler: snaps out of his [=WoW=] addiction showed a lava flow and a [=WoW=] character simply staring at him for seconds at a time.]]
* HarsherInHindsight:
** Jeremy's addiction to ''World of Warcraft'' was covered in two episodes. The first episode showed Jeremy [[spoiler: collapsing after not taking a break from ''[=WoW=]'', and subsequently being admitted to a mental hospital.]] The second episode showed Jeremy [[spoiler: being treated from his addiction and working out his thought processes via machinima until he returns to "normal"]]. This addiction was PlayedForLaughs but very closely mirrored real-life video/computer game addiction.
** In episode 7 of the web series, an MMO player asks FPS Doug "What level he is". Back then it was rare for any online game that wasn't an MMO to have a level system. It wouldn't be long before developers & publishers started putting them into everything, including FPS games. He is so confused he replies "Dust 2" and the MMO player laughs at him for only being "Level 2".
* UnintentionalPeriodPiece: Watching it now feels like a timewarp to 2006 gaming culture, and not just because of the games, but because of its depiction as an underground BasementDweller subculture, rather than the mainstream thing it is today. Hell, even the name is dated -- using the term "pwned" immediately makes a work or a phrase a pre-2010 throwback.
