* AmericansHateTingle: Much like ''WesternAnimation/TheFairlyOddParents'', the series was really hated in Latin America during the 2000's and a good part of the 2010's due to the channel Jetix shafting more popular shows[[labelnote:Namely...]]''Anime/SonicX'', ''Anime/MegaManNTWarrior'', ''Anime/PatlaborTheTVSeries'', ''WesternAnimation/CodeLyoko'', ''Anime/BakutenShootBeyblade'', ''Anime/ShamanKing'', ''Anime/KirbyRightBackAtYa'', ''WesternAnimation/TeenageMutantNinjaTurtles2003'', ''WesternAnimation/ObanStarRacers'', the ''Anime/UnicronTrilogy'', ''WesternAnimation/WolverineAndTheXMen'', ''Series/Goosebumps''[[/labelnote]] on horrible timeslots at the early hours of the morning (when all kids were asleep) or they would shuffle them around constantly during the day before they remove them just to put more ''Pucca'' (and ''Fairly [=OddParents=]'') episodes during the day. Not to mention that weekend specials dedicated to it were the norm by this point. While the hate has died down considerably since then (Jetix was closed in 2009 and its successor Disney XD removed the series in 2017) Pucca is still known as "that show that aired all the time on Jetix" in Latin America to this very day.
* BaseBreakingCharacter:
** Pucca herself. She is seen by fans as a cute and funny StalkerWithACrush, but others hate her for those exact same reasons.
** Similarly, Garu gets this. While some do see as a Woobie for what Pucca puts him through, other see him as an ungrateful bland edgelord who Pucca should get over. Others are in a third camp where they know Pucca's antics are bad, but are so indifferent to him, that they don't care.
* CharacterRerailment: After being hit with {{Flanderization}} in the first series, ''Love Recipe'' revert the main duo back to their original Flash shorts characterization, making their relationship doesn't fall one-sided on Pucca's behalf.
* DesignatedHero: Pucca is the main character, but she is an AbhorrentAdmirer to Garu, who most of the time doesn't want to be anywhere near her. She covers her room in photos of him and is always following him, yet this is supposed to be "funny love". She also assaults anyone who gets in her way of being with Garu no matter the reason, such as when she attacked Cupid because he didn't have an arrow to use on Garu.
* DracoInLeatherPants: While not a villian, Pucca is a StalkerWithACrush who has caused her crush to fear her. Expect her more positive traits to be exemplified or Garu's negative traits to be exaggerated in fanworks.
* EnsembleDarkHorse: The Lugie couple from "Sooga Size Me" were popular enough to gain a SequelEpisode. Both of them serve as hilariously scathing caricatures of American foreigners, with an unexpected affinity for {{Transforming Mecha}}s that made them quite memorable.
* {{Fanon}}: In a lot of fanworks, Garu is actually quite weak and only looks badass because Pucca is constantly protecting/getting of them for him.
* FoeYayShipping:
** In the episode [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TKeHpaGwQzM "Stuck on Goo"]] Garu and his enemy Tobe end up stuck together via a mishap with melted candy canes. They end up having to share a bed in one scene, in which Tobe accidentally touches Garu's hand, he then jerks away, embarrassed, and says they "will never speak of this again." Later as the two learn to get along, Tobe suggests they return to ''"Our'' home" (Garu's house) in a loving manner as they look at each other warmly.
** Tobe/Pucca is also very popular. Tobe typically initiates a UnrequitedLoveSwitcheroo in fanworks.
* JerkassWoobie: Tobe. It's hinted that he just wants to fight for fun with Garu (even Garu himself wants to), but Pucca always has to interrupt their game by kicking him away.
* MemeticLoser: Even for those that don't hate him, Garu is seen as this.
* MemeticMutation: Pucca's obsession with Garu is now often viewed as a "Thot's actions", while Garu represents as a "Thot Destroyer".
* QuirkyWork: The TV series, mostly. The web animations tend to remain in their pseudo feudal Korean/Japan/China hybrid location while the TV series is loaded with AnachronismStew and other absurdities.
* RescuedFromTheScrappyHeap: in ''Love Recipe'', Pucca is a lot more levelheaded and her StalkerWithACrush moments are toned down. She's less anger-prone and unless she's sufficiently pushed, and she no longer lets her jealousy become violent. She's also lost her PlotArmour so her strength and skills are more equal to Garu.
* RonTheDeathEater: Due to Pucca being the main character, if someone ships her with anyone else (mostly Tobe), Garu will become this. If it's not this, he will still be [[AdaptationalWimp much less stronger than canon]].
* SpiritualAdaptation: Can be seen as one to ''ComicBook/MonicasGang''. Both Pucca and Monica are young girls who wear red and have SuperStrength and a HairTriggerTemper, and they both have male acquaintances who are in [[ImpliedLoveInterest complicated relationships with them]]. In Pucca’s case, she has a crush on Garu, but he ([[SheIsNotMyGirlfriend usually]]) doesn’t return her affection and does not like her chasing him, while Jimmy Five is one of Monica’s best friends, but he frequently teases Monica to purposefully piss her off.
* SuspiciouslySimilarSong: The theme song to the 2006 TV series sounds oddly similar to "Early Riser", which were both performed by Plus-Tech Squeeze Box.
* TearJerker: [[spoiler: In the "Dong King vs. Goh Rong" finale of ''Love Recipe'', Dong King tricked Garu into thinking he was Garu's long lost father and used that to get Garu to train with him to beat Goh Rong in a cooking contest. After Dong King won, Dong King blows Garu off and the latter is unmasked after, the people of Sooga are shocked and confused at Garu's betrayal while [[MyGodWhatHaveIDone Garu himself is horrified and ashamed of what he did.]] The final nail in the coffin comes when Ring-Ring comes to Garu's side and reveals to him that Dong King lied about being his father, which prompts Garu to run off and go into self-exile.]]
* TheProblemWithLicensedGames: ''Pucca's Kisses Game'' for the ''UsefulNotes/WiiWare'' service attemps to mix Auto-Runner with Point and click adventure and does it [[FakeDifficulty ''very'']] [[{{Waggle}} poorly]].
* TheyWastedAPerfectlyGoodPlot: Garu is suggested to have a DarkAndTroubledPast and is in a constant struggle to avenge his family, and it's implied ''[[NotSoHarmless Tobe]]'' was the cause of it, explaining why they're constantly fighting each other. Of course, being a comedy series, this is only referenced in passing.
* UnintentionallySympathetic: Garu is always shown as a jerk who never returns Pucca's affections, but he's constantly chased, tortured, and harassed by Pucca and repeatedly kissed by her that it's easy to understand why he wants to be left alone since he's usually busy.
* UnintentionallyUnsympathetic: "He Loves Me Not", when it looks like Garu has fallen in love with Ring-Ring, Pucca enters a spiraling depression that, due to her unique abilities, causes the weather to grow more violent. While it turned out to be a ploy by Ring-Ring to mess with her, Pucca isn't exactly innocent. She stalks Garu and harasses him with unwanted kisses and affection so often that he's developed a crippling fear of her.
* ValuesDissonance: Pucca's obsessive crush with Garu has not aged well, as people nowadays have become less tolerant of men being sexually harassed, especially if it's in a show aimed at kids.
* TheWoobie:
** Garu, Oh, Garu. It's hard to fault him for being so adverse to Pucca since [[NoSenseOfPersonalSpace he can't get any private space from her]], and she's ''constantly'' harassing him with her "funny love." In fact, few people even seem ''aware'' of how ridiculous Pucca can be; it's rare that he ever gets any sympathy from the show's other characters.
** Dada trumps Garu in this. He's mocked by the village for suggesting a fork when all of the chopsticks are gone. He's constantly ridiculed and disrespected by the chefs. His crush on Ring Ring is clearly unreciprocated. And every time something good happens for him (Janitaurus not withstanding), he goes back to being the butt of the joke.
