* FridgeBrilliance: If you think about it, the change of narrative styles (First person in ''Pink Personal Hell'' and Third Person in ''Altering Fate'') makes a bit of sense given the story's twist. [[spoiler: The events of ''Pink Personal Hell'' act as InMediasRes to ''Altering Fate''. It can be interpreted in a way that the TwoLinesNoWaiting is Nickel Steel thinking back to the few week(s) before he went to Ponyville from ''his'' perspective - his "Pink Personal Hell" so to speak. It might further cement him as an UnreliableNarrator, focusing moreso on the Pink Personal Hell than what happened outside of it - he frankly doesn't ''want'' to remember.]]
* HilariousInHindsight: This was written before the Season 3 finale. The idea of "changing destiny" through supernatural means in ''WesternAnimation/MyLittlePonyFriendshipIsMagic'' might have made the author chuckle a little. Similarly, going through a mirror and becoming something else? Egads, he predated ''WesternAnimation/MyLittlePonyEquestriaGirls1''. This may turn out to be a bit HarsherInHindsight depending on what the authors' opinions was.
* TheUnTwist: [[spoiler: Okay... it becomes quite obvious that Nickel Steel was Dominic later on.]]
