* {{Anvilicious}}: The game is ''not'' subtle about it's core message that WarIsHell, with Simon frequently eulogizing the tragedy and pointlessness of conflict.
* SugarWiki/AwesomeMusic:
** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5q6skxRLnsI Preliator by Globus]], the de facto main theme of the game, and the song that plays in the final battle with Mephisto. Coincides with OminousLatinChanting.
** The credits song, [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zCdxC7rqLvs Orchard of Mines]], also by Globus.
* BigLippedAlligatorMoment: Just after the opening mission, an animation sequence occurs that looks rather like a trailer for the game, within the game. In it, Simon wakes up on the battlefield, with the [[ArtifactOfDoom Shadowhand,]] and proceeds to encounter both [[TheGhost the barbed-wire monster]] and several other monsters. When Simon wakes up in the next mission, he lacks the Shadowhand and has never seen any of the monsters before.
* {{Narm}}: The voice acting is... not polished to say the least. That Simon himself seems to have ''two'' voice actors both with wildly different personalities pushes him into the realm of the absurd at times.
* NarmCharm: At the same time, the game overlaps with this with some players, as the game is so utterly balls-to-the-wall batshit in its story ''and'' gameplay that it's hard not to smile.
* SugarWiki/FunnyMoments: "Kill the biggest bastard in the universe and get out of Hell once and for all!" as a ''mission objective''
* SugarWiki/MomentOfAwesome:
** "Simon says: Kiss my human ass!"
** "This mailman is gonna kick some ass" said after reading a [[{{Tearjerker}} dead soldier's letter to his wife,]] after Simon had previously declared to the (at the time living) soldier that wasn't going to take the letter.
