* CultClassic: It flopped horribly on its initial release and still isn't what you would consider a popular game, but those who did play it consider it a fantastic game. Merely having the Humongous brand attached to it certainly helped out in giving it at least some publicity once fans of their adventure and sports games grew up.
* ThatOneAttack: '''CRAWLERS.''' They can travel across any surface, including water. They crawl up past all your units and cause massive amounts of damage, and by the time that they're close enough in range to be easy to aim at, a reclaim is the only thing that will safely remove them from the premises. Furthermore, if they're submerged in water, you ''have'' to bomb them with ''another crawler'', as weapons dissolve in water. Hope you didn't have any bridges or units nearby!
* ThatOneLevel: The third System 7 mission is a nightmare. You are surrounded by three enemy bases who throw nothing but [[DemonicSpiders crawlers]] at you. This means past the third round or so, you will be spending at ''least'' three turns doing nothing but taking out the crawlers lest they damage your base, and there's only one very tiny energy pool nearby to aid you. Even if you use three and only three reclaims, that still leaves you with only one extra hub or offense to construct ''per round,'' and the bases are far enough away that you will need to build out a little bit to reach them. Once even just one of them is taken care of the level becomes a lot more bearable, but getting to that point can be a real chore, to say the least. It's quite telling that the gold requirement for this level is ''extremely'' generous.
