* SugarWiki/AwesomeMusic: Almost every episode of the series so far has had a song sung by a different member of the gang. And each one is awesome (and funny) in their own right.
** Series 1 Examples:
*** "F*** Chickens", an upbeat cockney pub song about Vince's [[FantasticRacism racial prejudice towards chickens]]. Even Nelson [[ActuallyQuiteCatchy can't help but bob along]] despite disapproving of the content!
*** "What Kind of God?", a rousing gospel number from Kali ft. a backing chorus of crows and Christopher Biggins as the big man himself!
*** "Ugly Women Are Beautiful Too", a catchy dance-pop parody of Music/LadyGaga's "Poker Face" about how plus-size and less attractive women can still be attractive.
*** "Everybody Loves A Lesbian", a toe-tapping country-rock number from a crow summarizing while GirlOnGirlIsHot. Even Destiny gets in on it, playing quite the sweet riff on a guitar to bridge to the final chorus.
*** Perhaps the best one by far is Nelson's song "Breaking Up Is Such A Faff", a Music/MeatLoaf-styled power ballad about how, despite hating his new wife, Nelson can't bring himself to break up with her for various petty reasons.
*** Episode 7 gives us "Middle Class is Magical", perhaps the SignatureSong of the entire show - a whimsical tune from Nelson touting the wonders of the middle-class metrosexual lifestyle he leads. Such was the impact of that song that it would eventually be performed at the BBC Comedy Proms of 2011, with every main character from the show taking part.
** In episode 5, Nelson tries to sing to Destiny about his love for her, but she ends up being dragged away by Gary shortly after the song begins. However, to make up for this, he sings lead on two songs across the whole series instead of one like everyone else.
** Season 2 Examples:
*** "Die, Evil Zombies!" A masterful pastiche of the Time Warp from ''Film/TheRockyHorrorPictureShow'', sung by ''Creator/RichardOBrien'' himself!
*** "I'm A C***", Vince's VillainSong about, [[ExactlyWhatItSaysOnTheTin well... how much of a c*** he is]].
*** "The Estate Agent Song", a catchy tune from Nelson filled with BlatantLies about how safe Millwall is as he tries to convince a squirrel to move in with him.
*** "Smoking Makes You Look Cool", set to the tune of "Empire State of Mind", by Music/AliciaKeys and Music/JayZ, an R&B/rap number in which Marion passes on his [[AntiRoleModel questionable life lessons]] to his estranged son.
*** "Just A Little Tap on The Nose", set to the tune of Music/LilyAllen's "LDN", a bouncy, R&B-reggae number about [[DoubleStandardAbuseFemaleOnMale using violence to keep a man you like in line]].
*** "I'm Gonna Murder Justin Bieber", a soulful, Music/MichaelJackson-styled number from Rob the chimpanzee expressing his desire to brutally murder all the modern young pop stars for ruining music. All while Nelson [[FunnYBackgroundEvent rushes to keep his hands occupied]].
* ColbertBump: Go to the comments section for the "I'm A *** Song" video and you'll find most viewers were brought in by an [[VideoGame/TeamFortress2 SFM remake of the song]].
* CrossingTheLineTwice: Like many UK sitcoms ''Series/{{Mongrels}}'' is dedicated to offending as many people as possible solely in the name of a good hearty laugh.
** Used almost literally when Destiny beats up the CampStraight Chihuahua. [[HeteronormativeCrusader Beating up someone for being gay?]] Horrible. Beating up someone for letting you think they were gay while actually being straight? Hmm... sort of okay.
%%* EnsembleDarkhorse: Vince.
* HoYay:
** The circle stroking mentioned above, to which Vince comments that it's "the second gayest thing I've seen in the last ten days," and one of Marion's attempts to break up Nelson and his sister ([[BrotherSisterIncest Nelson's sister]], not Marion's) involved dressing in drag and claiming to be his wife.
** [[spoiler: Nelson And Vince]] get a lot of HoYay when they are stuck in the "Island" and actually end up having sex.
* LesYay: Episode 3 involves Kali and a lesbian crow.
* MemeticMutation: "Oi!"
* NightmareFuel: The "across the border surgery" CutawayGag is supposed to be BlackComedy, but it ends up more disturbing than funny.
* PeripheryDemographic: For understandable reasons, the show is quite popular among UK's UsefulNotes/FurryFandom.
* TearJerker: Kali's breakdown can be seen as this... that is until [[spoiler:she blinds a kid.]]
* WhatDoYouMeanItsNotForKids: Timeslot and general tone of humour not withstanding of course.
