* EightPointEight: Since Mark isn't afraid of bashing beloved artists, this has happened many times.
** The most famous example is his review of Music/{{ACDC}}'s ''Ballbreaker'', which sparked furious comments from [[{{Hatedom}} braindead fans]].
** His Music/MilesDavis page. He outright admits he doesn't understand jazz, and thus can't appreciate Davis' music. That doesn't stop him from giving bad grades to classics such as ''Music/KindOfBlue''.
** Also, his reviews of Music/VelvetUnderground, Music/TheSmiths, Music/PJHarvey, Music/ToriAmos, Music/JoniMitchell and Music/DavidBowie.
* FunnyAneurysmMoment: In his review of ''Absolute Dissent'' by Music/KillingJoke, he talks about how he bought tickets to a Music/{{Pavement}} show with his wife eleven months in advance and remembered making the joke, "Eleven months? We could be divorced by then!" They were.
* HilariousInHindsight: A mild case occurs in [[http://markprindle.com/drunken.htm#dressy his review of]] ''Dressy Hat'' by Drunken Boat: Finding the material vastly disappointing in comparison with their other albums, he says "as a former member of Drunken Boat, perhaps you can tell me what happened on this record". He obviously wasn't expecting anyone from the band to actually read the review, but they did - the reader comments include two former Drunken Boat members (and a RecordProducer) giving their opinions on why the album differed from their others.
* TearJerker:
** His review of Music/BruceSpringsteen's "The Rising" begins with a long, detailed description of what he and his then-wife were doing on September 11th when the towers fell. [[http://markprindle.com/springa.htm#rising You can read it here. Bring tissues.]]
** The post he made when Henry The Dog died.
