* AlternativeCharacterInterpretation:
** Pretty much everyone, but Miles gets a special mention. His creator and fans (both hardcore and casual) take a different interpretation of him; being a JerkassWoobie who constantly receives DisproportionateRetribution; while the other side thinks he's a [[CasanovaWannabe self-absorbed]] {{Jerkass}} who's always [[CreatorsPet stealing the spotlight]].
** Rachael also gets a disturbing amount of this, usually on the forum, and usually from people who hate her and call her a selfish, heartless whore who deserves crippling injuries, life-threatening illnesses- or even death- and people who desperately want her shoehorned into a dysfunctional relationship with Miles; the latter group insists that she's actually a weak-willed {{Tsundere}} who loves {{Jerkass}}es and only pretends to love guys like Minos.
* BaseBreakingCharacter:
** Miles is the biggest example of this in the comic. Either he's a heavily flawed, but still interesting character who's genuinely trying to address his shortcomings or a completely irredeemable chauvinist that refuses to grow up and deserves all the punishment that comes his way. It doesn't help that he's [=SoulKat=]'s AuthorAvatar, himself a controversial figure.
** Sarah and Digit. Cute {{Tagalong Kid}}s that bring some much needed lightheartedness to the comic or annoying, immature brats [[SpotlightStealingSquad that grab too much spotlight]] and [[TheLoad contribute little to the plot with their childish escapades]] (moreso in Sarah's case since Digit at least has an important role in the farm's operations).
** Geecku. Almost immediately after her introduction, some people loved her, and others completely railed against her, arguing that she's a one note GenkiGirl whose (so far) only main trait is [[ReallyGetsAround her extensive sex life]]. Some critics also decry how her suffering no consequences for trashing Mora's kitchen is "unrealistic". Nevermind this series has never been big on realism in the first place.
* DracoInLeatherPants: While she ''does'' genuinely have her good points ([[spoiler:especially after her HeelFaceTurn]]), quite a few people insist that Alej is the "true" heroine, despite the horrible things she did and how the SanitySlippage that nearly destroyed her was primarily her own fault.
* EnsembleDarkHorse:
** Taffy, by a long shot, considering that she's popular enough to win practically every positive poll on the official website regardless of the category, including the poll about which character would you like to see have their own spin-off series from the main cast.
** Ambar, to the point of becoming the go-to character for the bonus [=AMA=] series because she was that well-liked. The same could apply to her daughter Naerie.
** Phi for her shy and analytical personality, in contrast to the more divisive Digit.
** Any character exclusive to the bonus comics that have yet to show up in the main ones. Tila Sunrise in particular.
* FandomEnragingMisconception: Soul Kat has a big BerserkButton related to this trope due to so many people screwing up Davin Preacher's name, instead calling him Devin.
* HarsherInHindsight: When Chalo published [[http://www.laslindas.katbox.net/?p=533 Comic 265]], this text was included as part of the update: "And in that fateful day, while in the middle of a lusty dream (I guess), the life of the lil rascal came to a end. Will someone remember him, after he's gone, I wonder? Only time will tell." Within the next week, Chalo's brother died.
** It was also coincidentally posted shortly after [[Manga/CrayonShinChan Yoshito Usui]] was found dead, having fallen off a cliff on September 11th, 2009.
** During the comic's early days, a number of gags were centered around the farm's well. The same well was later the center of a rather [[TearJerker heartrending]] scene.
* HoYay: The forums turned Randal's apparent metrosexuality into a running gag where he's actually gay...and the favorite fan pairing for him was with Miles. It got to the point where an April Fools strip was produced that depicted the two naked together in bed.
** Female examples:
*** Played with in the {{Fanservice}} arc "Breasts Are the Best" between [[strike:Taffy]] Ria and Rachael.
*** Joked about in the main comic [[http://laslindas.katbox.net/index.php?strip_id=224 here]]
*** Also, Alejandra and Tootsie's relationship; unlike the above example, this one is actually canon, though it's also played with in "Breasts Are the Best".
* HypeBacklash: The comic was originally one of the most popular and praised furry webcomics, but once it became more widely known a majority of readers were completely off put by the excessive fanservice and contentious story.
* MemeticMutation:
** Messiah's "Scandalous!", arguably.
** And Randal's "Fabulous!", inarguably.
* {{Moe}}:
** [[spoiler:Only two pages in, and Phi is already garnering a reputation for being cuter than ''Digit''.]]
** Taffy, ''especially'' when she's wearing her reading glasses.
* MoralEventHorizon: [[spoiler: Din and Jin trick a mentally handicapped woman (Sarah) into nearly killing a little girl (Digit).]]
* {{Narm}}: Any comic page that tries to have a serious moment while shoving in as much fanservice per panel as humanly possible... Which happens very often.
* RescuedFromTheScrappyHeap: Miles and Rachael used to be far more divisive characters and even more divisive as a pairing, but the reception to them and their relationship has grown softer with time, especially as they started outgrowing their more toxic traits and no longer treat Las Lindas as a shithole they don't want any part of.
* RootingForTheEmpire: Lots of people swear blind that Alejandra is/should be the heroine, despite most of her misery being self-inflicted.
* TheScrappy: Din and Jin for never getting [[KarmaHoudini any real commeupance]] and barely bringing anything interesting to the table in terms of character or conflict after their initial plan to kill Digit.
* SeasonalRot: Over time, the already divisive story has gotten less focused and overly complicated, whilst many characters have gotten more obnoxious. Not helping matters was the comic going on to indulge in even more fanservice.
* StrangledByTheRedString: Happens a lot and is one of the most common criticisms of an often already derided plot.
** [=SoulKat=] has apparently decided out of the blue that Miles and Rachael need to be shoved together as soon as possible, with little other than [=ID=] holding him back from doing it within a few pages. The part with Miles showing Rachael his junked plane, with Rachael reacting inexplicably well to Miles calling her pet-names and sharing his responsibility-dodging dreams with her, was the ''toned down'' version--the original, according to [=ID=], was filled with juvenile flirting and completely unsubtle double-entendres from both characters. As Rachael has previously given every indication of absolutely ''despising'' guys like Miles, and as Miles has not shown a single sign of miraculously becoming the type of man she'd want to spend her life with, this trope is in full effect as she's steadily {{Flanderiz|ation}}ed into a stereotypical {{Tsundere}} to facilitate their pairing.
** Rachael goes directly from making it clear what an undesirable creep she still thinks Miles is to being his friend. And all it takes is Miles saying he likes her and parroting the typical Miles+Rachael shipper claim that they're alike. And on the forum, [[WordOfGod despite Chalo himself saying all that's changed is Rachael just hates Miles a tiny bit less]], she's begun adopting [[ItsAllAboutMe his arrogant, myopic worldview]] that she's previously explicitly stated she hates, while he goes on about how close they are and how much time they spend together and refers to her as "[his] girl". [[SarcasmMode How very well-written and perfectly-paced.]] Additionally, they seem to be getting placed into a clearly abusive relationship, with Miles using a classic battered wife excuse when Sarah asks why he's all beaten up and Rachael confidently and firmly backing up said excuse. By now, even some of the shippers have been stepping back and saying "Wow, this really is getting terrible." [[FlipFlopOfGod Chalo later went on to claim this was her way of showing sympathy for him after the beating she gave him and seriously believes it's in-character for her.]]
** Randal and Taffy's relationship applies as well. They barely know anything about each other, rarely interacted with each other at all before this, and still end up ''deeply in love, [[IntertwinedFingers holding hands while gazing into each other's eyes]], and [[TrueLovesKiss passionately smooching]] after one date'', in a scene so overblown and rushed that it feels like a parody of the classic Disney formula. Additionally, the entire thing's ridiculous pacing makes it seem like it was done solely to get people to stop questioning Randal's sexuality ASAP, and it doesn't help that [=SoulKat=] has more than once expressed a desire for people to stop viewing Randal as so much as feminine and shown immense disgust and hatred for a number of fan-favourite homosexual pairings and those who like them. After a certain point, [=SoulKat=] seemed determined to shove the pairing down everyone's throats and force them to love it, through some of the most overplayed and stereotypically sugary dialogue and displays of affection possible between the two.
* {{Squick}}:
** What's more disturbing? Digit actually being drawn for the bust chart, or the fact that so many people wanted to see her on it so badly?
** And now [[spoiler:Alejandra's new resident spirit, Phi, is drawn right off the bat in a fanservicey outfit with prominent breasts and hips. [[WordOfGod Despite being just as much a child as Digit.]] Oh yeah, totally not creepy.]]
** [[http://laslindas.katbox.net/archive/afterglow/ Digit completely got both Mora's wish to see Taffy and Randal "do it" AND the cum joke.]] The latter of which she grinned and laughed at. She's supposed to be the equivalent of a prepubescent child and she's already becoming a second Mora. And some fans are disturbingly pleased by this. Yeah. [[http://laslindas.katbox.net/archive/special-occasion/ And now we know why she got it.]] Digit is connected to Mora to such a degree that she knows and feels when Mora has sex. Digit, who for all intents and purposes is a prepubescent child of about 10 to 12 or so, KNOWS AND FEELS WHEN MORA HAS SEX. WHY DOES SHE HAVE THIS FEATURE? And to make matters worse, she's visibly discomforted by it.
** About the only way to take the problematic elements out is to assume that Digit and Phi, being technically a separate "species" from both Primes and humans, are actually OlderThanTheyLook when it comes to mental age vs. physical age in at least '''some''' areas.
* TakeThatScrappy:
** [[http://laslindas.katbox.net/?p=549 Tiare going all in on Miles' flaws.]] You think Soulkat reads this page?
** Whoever on the Katbox Krew allowed Miles to get pounded by Rachael for about two pages clearly noticed how much he's hated outside of his devoted fans. From the sheer vitriol that Miles attracts, it's clear that many readers would've liked a dozen more pages of that.
* TearJerker:
** Last panel (warning: '''spoilers''') of [[http://laslindas.katbox.net/index.php?strip_id=265 this page]]. Full stop.
*** [[spoiler: Just Mora's starting from [[http://laslindas.katbox.net/comic/las-lindas/struggles/ here.]]. As heartwarming as it is that she wants to help her brother and best friend with the webbing, she also running herself ragged.]]
** [[http://laslindas.katbox.net/comic/dreams-of-my-morita/ Idward's explanation of his fling with Mora]] (NSFW warning) was surprisingly touching, considering that his love of Mora had been pretty much PlayedForLaughs before. At least it helped flesh his character out a bit from a nerdy StalkerWithACrush.
** Alejandra's growing self destructive state due to her obsession with beating Mora. [[spoiler:Thankfully they patch things up.]]
* UnintentionallySympathetic:
** Miles in the very early comic, for being blackmailed, essentially enslaved and generally treated like crap.
** Alejandra has the absolute right to be mad at Mora and Las Lindas for receiving preferential treatment from the upper echelons of Prime society simply because Minos happened to have connections with Ambar instead of any actual merit, and while she was being quite a jerk about it, the humiliation she goes through at the Harvest Festival can come off as mean-spirited, even if it was accidental.
** Tootsie describes Alexandria Dairy's board of directors as "goons who only care about the bottom line" just because they were losing trust in Alejandra's capacity to lead and pushing for an investigation on her, actions that couldn't be further from plainly reasonable, since Alejandra ''was'' wasting their money for petty, personal reasons and taking the moral high ground simply for not going all in with her risky projects after starting them.
* UnintentionallyUnsympathetic:
** As pointed out several times in this page, Mora in the early comic is quite a piece of work. She does all sorts of questionable things that either go unpunished or downplayed and has severe bouts of anger that eventually get brushed aside whenever she starts crying to ellicit sympathy. Rehiring Miles (after having blackmailed and revenge slept with him) is literally the only time she ever manages to "fix" one of her many mistakes, and even then, it was as an apology to Minos instead of the actual victim.
** Minos feeling hurt by Mora criticizing his artistry is one thing. Entertaining and validating Rachael's feelings for him because of that is another (as it comes off as uncharacteristically petty), especially since he's meant to be the wisest, most mature character in the cast.
* WhatDoYouMeanItsNotForKids: The bright colors and animal characters may make it seem like its age appropriate for everyone, [[http://laslindas.katbox.net/comic/cooking-up-a-plan/ that is until you get to the fifth page....]]
