* AnticlimaxBoss: The Dragon Emperor in the original series. He has a very short fight with Jeeg in the final episode, and most of the time he uses robots rather than fight himself.

** The opening of the original series ''[[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UeZNHrsC-vg Kotetsu Jeeg]]''. Bam Babam...
** From ''Kotetsushin Jeeg'', we have ''[[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TsjpactG7ls Stormbringer]]'' and ''[[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YiFyKOE7how Dead or Alive]]''. You can thank Music/JAMProject for those two.

** Original manga:
*** [[GodSaveUsFromTheQueen Queen Himika]] is the vicious [[BigBad ruler]] of the Jamatai Kingdom. Upon the revival of her kingdom, Himika has the only ones who know of the Jamatai Kingdom murdered and sets about attempting to [[KillAllHumans exterminate humanity]]. Himika sends her men to massacre humans, attempting to turn Tokyo into a sea of blood while being [[YouHaveFailedMe viciously unforgiving towards failure]]. At one point, Himika happily massacres tons of her own men before sending many others to be suicide bombers. In the final chapters, Himika takes over the efforts herself, attempting to kill every human in Japan while brainwashing soldiers into killing their own people before murdering them herself, stopping at nothing to exterminate those she sees as beneath her.
*** [[SociopathicSoldier Ikima]] is the evilest of the three generals serving Queen Himika. Awakening Himika from her slumber, he proceeds to help her in her quest to exterminate mankind and rebuild her kingdom, often serving as the leader of her forces and Phantoms. Killing Hiroshi Shiba and mortally wounding his father while out killing the ones who know of Jamatai, Ikima does whatever he can to take down Steel Jeeg and friends, whether it be having rabid dogs attempt to slaughter his family, launching attacks on his Build Base, or kidnapping Micchi. Piloting Himika's Phantasm Fortress, Ikima relishes in the destruction he rains upon Japan as countless people are [[ManOnFire burned to death]], while also ordering various Phantoms to tear numerous cities apart. Once Himika chooses to kill Hiroshi herself, Ikima decides to brainwash countless humans into becoming Haniwa soldiers, hoping to enslave everyone in Japan.
** ''Kotetsushin Jeeg'' (''Steel God Jeeg''): [[GodSaveUsFromTheQueen Queen Himika]] is the [[BigBad ruler]] of the Jamatai Kingdom. Originally an alien who blew up countless planets alongside Takeru and Miyazu, she decided to take over Earth and [[KillAllHumans slaughter humanity]] after landing on it. Sealed away by Takeru and Miyazu, she later awakens to claim the Bronze Bells, which would grant her special powers. Creating a deadly fog barrier surrounding Kyushu, she orders her henchmen to bring her the Bells, supplying them with Phantoms and Yomi soldiers that cause much havoc and death. After she and Tsubaki make a connection through the Bells, she has Tsubaki kidnapped and uses her powers to acquire the Bells, tossing her aside once she's through with her. Using the Bells' power, she awakens her Phantom Fortress and has it destroy everything in its path before heading to the moon and unlocking the Great Bronze Bell. With it, she kills hundreds of her fighters and creates a monster using the evil spirits of the world, ordering it to devour Earth's sorrows and annihilate humanity.
* GermansLoveDavidHasselhoff:
** Latin Americans love ''El Vengador''.
** And Italians who grew up in the 70's and 80's love ''Jeeg Robot D'acciaio'' (''Steel Robot Jeeg''). His opening is one of the best remembered anime intros there. The show is even a vital part of the 2015 Italian superhero film, ''Lo chiamavano Jeeg Robot'' (''They Call Me Jeeg''), in which the protagonist Enzo gains inhuman strength and durability after [[ToxicWasteCanDoAnything coming in contact with toxic waste]], and is thus identified as a real-life Hiroshi Shiba by the female lead Alessia, a [[ManChild woman-child]] obsessed with ''Kotetsu Jeeg''. In the movie's end credits music there's a [[SofterandSlowerCover softer and slower cover]] of the anime's Italian opening theme sung by Enzo's actor.
* SugarWiki/HeartwarmingMoments: In ''Kotetsushin Jeeg'', Hiroshi Shiba (The original Kotetsu Jeeg) goes missing for decades, and Michi (His combat partner/girlfriend) eventually grows old enough to have a granddaughter. When Hiroshi comes back, having never aged at all on account of him being a cyborg, Michi sadly tells him that she feels ashamed that he has to see her like that. Hiroshi answers that he doesn't care, because he'll always love her just the same. D'AWW!!!
* HilariousInHindsight: You'd be forgiven for thinking Jeeg had connections to ''Series/KamenRiderBuild'' because of the phrase Build Up - which just so happens to be the same phrase Sento uses when changing forms.
* MemeticMutation: I DON'T NEED AIR.[[note]]Derived from the scene where Kenji tells Hiroshi that there's no air in space, to which Hiroshi simply replies "I don't need it" then jumps off to form the head to make the original Jeeg.[[/note]]
** ZENMETSU DA![[note]]"Completely destroyed!", one of the lines from the [[WhatDoYouMeanItsForKids surprisingly violent]] theme song of the original anime[[/note]]
** Konoyaro! Jeeg Breaker! Shinee![[note]]"You bastard! Jeeg Breaker! DIE!" One of Jeeg's lines during Episode 18 of the original series, spoken as he literally ''hugs the villain to death''. This became a meme when Jeeg appeared in ''[[VideoGame/SuperRobotWarsAlpha Super Robot Wars Alpha 2]]'' and this line appeared as one of the attack quotes when using Jeeg Breaker, and was even featured in the trailer. In fact, pretty much every Niconico video featuring Jeeg has a storm of scrolling comments saying "SHINEE!" whenever he uses the move.[[/note]]
** "Steel Jeeg, hero of VideoGame/SuperRobotWars"[[note]]Jeeg, along with Kakizaki from [[Anime/SuperDimensionFortressMacross Macross]] and Wufei from [[Anime/MobileSuitGundamWing Gundam Wing]], are known as the "Three Heroes of SRW" in Japan. Due to them being the three most memetastic characters in the whole series[[/note]]
* ReplacementScrappy: The Dragon Emperor as BigBad to Himika in the original series. No surprise that he doesn't appear in ''Kotetsushin'' nor is he even mentioned.
* TearJerker: The episode in the original series where [[spoiler: Takeru, an AntiVillain General forcibly revived by Himika falls for Micchi, because she's the IdenticalStranger to his beloved dead wife. He ends up pulling an HeroicSacrifice to save Micchi's life.]]
** The scene in ''Kotetsushin Jeeg'' where Hiroshi reunites with Micchi after fifty years.
* ToughActToFollow: Within the entire final battle, fans remember the [[BashBrothers two Jeegs battle]] a lot more than the actual final fight involving the titular SuperForm.
