* SugarWiki/FunnyMoments:
** The king speaking to David about the debt he owes him for saving his sons life, asking him what reward he wants including "Half his kingdom" David has no answer but just awkwardly stairs at Michelle on the other side of the room which is noticed by Silas.
-->'''Silas:''' [[DeadpanSnarker Half my Kingdom it is]].
** Abbadon's lecture to Silas on how to handle his newfound unpopularity in the penultimate episode, in which he shows ''exactly'' why he's been in a stone box for 30 years. If you're a fan of ComedicSociopathy, that is.
** Most scenes with the [[ThoseTwoGuys lowly palace guards]].
-->'''Boyden:''' Oh God... [[UnequalPairing you love Thomasina]]! You're so screwed.\\
'''Klotz:''' I'm so screwed.
** Jack taking David and his friends out on the town, as they approach a bouncer and velvet rope Jack (the Crown Prince) gets everyone with a great BlatantLies
-->'''Jack:''' This is my brother, my cousin, my reflexologist(drug dealer), Tennis instructor(David), oh and can't forget about my shrinks(bodyguards)
** After David is promoted and has his first press conference it cuts to his unit at the front including his brother watching him on TV, laughing and cheering as he reads a press briefing
-->'''Eli:''' (Laughing) They made him their monkey!!!
* SugarWiki/HeartwarmingMoments:
** Jack to Joseph: "You are the only real thing I ever touch."
** Boyden and Klotz ask David to settle an argument over what they are serving at his feast, instead of just telling them the next day David saved them some and left it for them at their guard booth.
* SugarWiki/HeReallyCanAct: Creator/MacaulayCulkin surprised people who still thought of him as [[Film/HomeAlone Kevin McCallister]] by playing such an ambiguous character with a dark and shady past.
* HilariousInHindsight: Sebastian Stan begins the show [[Film/CaptainAmericaTheFirstAvenger getting captured during a war.]]
* HoYay: Pretty much everyone who has any contact with David, though this is probably unintentional -- except in the case of Jack, who is canonically gay, and also [[http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/David_and_Jonathan the crown prince]].
* MemeticMutation:
** It's popular to accompany the image of [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c4g-SBNkFQg David surrounded by butterflies]] with the words "[[ScrewedByTheNetwork Never forget]]".
*** Or to mistake said image as David tossing gold coins onto his face.
** "[[NoYou AND YOU'RE NO PRINCE, YOU FAGGOT!]]"
* SugarWiki/MomentOfAwesome: [[spoiler: "Oh William; bringing guns... to a ''tank'' battle"]]
** Many throughout the series. One of the more notable ones is when Jack [[spoiler: refuses to let Silas sentence David for treason and reveals that it was all a setup. Although it worked out in his favor politically, Jack didn't do it for that reason, marking a significant shift in his relationship with David.]]
* OneSceneWonder: Brian Cox's occasional appearances as Abbadon.
* RetroactiveRecognition: [[Film/CaptainAmericaTheFirstAvenger Bucky Barnes]] is the crown prince.
* TearJerker: Joseph[[spoiler:'s suicide]].
* TheyWastedAPerfectlyGoodPlot: For a story based on updating the life of king David, remarkably little of the first season's plot aligns to anything from the sources. So, the show skipped over the potential of the Crown Prince struggling with his friendship with David and his loyalty to his father, the story of David winning glory in battle even after becoming a hero, or Samuel and Silas actually coming into political conflict, and the show was cancelled before it reached the part where David, in exile, becomes a benevolent mercenary for Gath. Instead, most of the show was filler until the finale.
* UnintentionallySympathetic: In all honesty, it's hard to know just ''how'' sympathetic the audience is supposed to feel towards Jack, but between his WellDoneSonGuy tendencies, the blatant homophobia shown to him by both his parents, the fact that he spends the majority of the time as an UnwittingPawn for his [[MagnificentBastard uncle]] and his all-round status as the show's resident JerkassWoobie, you'll not find many people who don't think his ultimate fate was far too harsh.
