* AccidentalNightmareFuel: The planes' faces. Especially disconcerting is the fact that the faces of the younger planes ''barely'' look like those of the young "kids" they're supposed to be.
* SugarWiki/AwesomeMusic: For what it's worth, some of the show's songs ''were'' pretty catchy:
** "[[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DmhmwohF7j4 Wing Wigglin']]" is liable to get stuck in your head for a few hours.
** And of course, there's also the show's [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bJyjRlhznnE theme song]].
* EnsembleDarkHorse: The aspect of the show that's remembered most fondly is Brenda Blue, with her inviting, [[TeamMom motherly]] nature making what fans there are love her.
* FanNickname: Fans like to call the pilot series "The Model Series" to distinguish it from the CGI series.
* MemeticMutation:
** Aside from the poorly-aged motion capture for the planes gaining infamy, Jay Jay was a popular character to use in {{animutation}}s back when they were extremely popular, such as Creator/NeilCicierega's animutation of the first ending for ''Anime/PokemonTheSeries''.
** Whenever mention of the show pops up in a Website/YouTube comments section, expect one to reinforce that "WE DON'T TALK ABOUT JAY JAY THE JET PLANE!"
** An edited image of Jay Jay that looks like he just blew up a city became a popular lable meme in 2021.
* NightmareFuel: Tracy's NightmareSequence where [[MidasTouch anything she touches turns into candy]]. She likes it at first, but she soon realizes she'd effectively kill anyone and everyone she touches, and ultimately ends up getting herself and all her friends stuck on a runaway when she touches said runway with her wheels, turning it into candy. The sequence ends with her crying out for help.
* RetroactiveRecognition: The narrator in the pilot series is none other than John William Galt, who would later be more known for his roles in many retro first person shooter games such as ''VideoGame/ShadowWarrior1997'' (Lo Wang), ''VideoGame/{{Daikatana}}'' (Toshiro Ebihara), and ''VideoGame/DeusEx'' (Joseph Manderley, Jock, Tracer Tong).
* SpecialEffectFailure:
** Due to the early use of CGI and MotionCapture at the time, it comes off as this, especially with the mouth movements.
** In "Evan Gets His Wings", Herky briefly becomes an unmoving 2D image as he rides on top of Evan.
** During the skywriting sequence in "Tracy's Song", neither Snuffy nor Tracy blink.
* SuspiciouslySimilarSong:
** Portions of "Super Sonic Boom" are similar to "Dreams" by Music/FleetwoodMac.
** "I'm a Speedy Guy" is to the tune of "Get Ready" by Music/TheTemptations.
** "[[UsefulNotes/AmeliaEarhart Amelia]]" sounds very similar to the Christmas song "The Man with the Bag".
