* BileFascination: The only talk you're likely to hear about this film is people pondering how auteur Creator/FrancisFordCoppola wound up making such a critically derided kids movie.
* HarsherInHindsight:
** Jack's angina attack was already really hard to watch, but Creator/RobinWilliams would have heart problems later on, requiring heart surgery in 2009.
** The final scene. [[spoiler:Listening to Jack talk about not worrying about how much time you have and enjoying every moment is absolutely '''heartbreaking''' when taking Robin Williams' suicide into account.]]
* SugarWiki/HeartwarmingMoments: Of the TearsOfJoy variant, there is the "Who I Want To Be When I Grow Up" report.
* HilariousInHindsight: Coppola suggested the reason ''Jack'' may have flopped critically is because it was a CreatorsOddball, claiming: "It was considered that I had made ''Film/ApocalypseNow'' and I'm like a [[Creator/MartinScorsese Marty Scorsese]] type of director, and here I am making this dumb Disney film with Robin Williams"... too bad that 15 years later Scorsese proved him wrong by releasing his own family-friendly CreatorsOddball with ''Film/{{Hugo}}'' to a very positive critical reception.
* NightmareFuel: While the movie starts out poking fun at the idea of a 10-year-old in a 40-year-old body, the second half of the film drops the pretense and shows that, yes, Jack's body is actually that old and, yes, he is going to die from old age probably by the time he's 20.
* {{Padding}}: The whole subplot with the Fran Drescher character.
* RetroactiveRecognition:
** This film was made just before Creator/JenniferLopez really broke into the mainstream -- albeit not ''quite'' her first role in a major film, which was the previous year's ''Film/MoneyTrain'' -- and a couple of years before she dominated pop culture.
** Co-writer James [=DeMonaco=] is these days better-known for being the writer-director of ''Film/ThePurge'', and thus the franchise that it spawned.
* SpiritualAdaptation: ''Jack'' feels like a more kid-friendly ''Literature/TheCuriousCaseOfBenjaminButton''.
