* FairForItsDay: Many of the movies she reviews were once considered progressive milestones in queer cinema, but have aged poorly.
** ''Different From The Others,'' a silent picture from UsefulNotes/WeimarRepublic, was revolutionary for its time, but seems melodramatic by today's standards. Conrad Veidt's resemblance to ComicBook/TheJoker (which is unsurprising- he visually ''inspired'' the Joker) doesn't help.
** ''Film/{{Philadelphia}}'' is probably the most iconic example of this. [[{{MagicalQueer}} Andy]] has very little personality beyond TheWoobie, and [[{{ButNotTooGay}} is given very few scenes with his partner]]. Joe, the supposed AudienceSurrogate is so rampantly homophobic that gay friendly audiences would probably have a hard time identifying with him.
