* SugarWiki/AwesomeMusic: The game has one of the best (and [[SugarWiki/NeedsMoreLove most overlooked]]) soundtracks on the SNES, especially the final boss theme, [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OuHzbNB-nrA 'Clash of Light and Shadow']]
** [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XYwPvihuABk&hd=1 Great Wall of China]]
* {{Narm}}: Hamlet's [[spoiler: HeroicSacrifice]] would probably have had more pathos if [[spoiler: the air wasn't filling "with the smell of roast Hamlet"...]]
** Or if [[spoiler:Erik]] hadn't made a bad {{Pun}} about it.
* NightmareFuel: Several characters are gruesomely altered or killed outright. The giant room of vermin in Angkor Wat isn't very pleasant, either.
** The sequence on the Incan Gold Ship was pretty unsettling too. When you first arrive on the ship, there's all of these people who think you're the king for some reason. The ship sets sail into the beautiful blue sea, and you eventually go take a nap. You have a strange dream involving your mother and the approaching comet, and when you wake up, everyone you had previously talked to is a [[DeadAllAlong decayed corpse]]. Then one of your childhood friends gets eaten by a sea monster.
** [[spoiler: The Jackal's death. He is set on fire by one of the Pyramid's sound-activated booby traps (which ''you'' triggered) and is slowly burned alive, crawling across the floor towards Kara until his body stops moving. And it's all completely onscreen.]]
* RomanticPlotTumor: Arguably, [[spoiler:Will and Kara]].
** Also [[spoiler:Lance and Lilly]], which actually diverts you from the plot a lot more (you wouldn't even GO to the Great Wall, one of the game's main levels, otherwise).
* TearJerker: In the Native's Village, [[spoiler: Hamlet's HeroicSacrifice.]] Less ambiguously, the ending, when it emerges that [[spoiler: because time moves at a different rate on the comet, thousands of years have passed for Will and Kara, meaning they return to Earth in the modern era with everything they knew having gone. Granted, they themselves remain together at the end, but still...]]
** You can find some bones of an explorer in an early-game ruin which contain a letter from his children wishing he comes home safe. As if that wasn't bad enough, later on in the game you can meet his children in person, and [[spoiler:they're still waiting for their father to return]].
*** And the game provides no option to [[spoiler:tell them he's not going to]].
** In another early location, it's mentioned that the luxurious carpets in Edward Castle take forty years to make. In one of the last areas of the game, you visit the town these carpets are made in. It's revealed that the female workers spend their entire lives making these carpets by hand, from their childhood to adulthood.
* ThatOneBoss: It could be the game's [[WakeUpCallBoss first boss]], [[DualBoss third boss]], or BonusBoss, depending on who you ask.
** Castoth, the first boss: The first major combat challenge you face, with multiple parts to worry about.
** Jack and Silvana, the third boss: [[UnholyMatrimony Married vampires]], who have very good coordination and require you to pay close attention to their movements to avoid their attacks. And have a combination attack that is hard to dodge if you're not prepared for it at can knock of roughly 1/3 of your life in one shot.
** [[spoiler:Solid Arm]], the BonusBoss: Actually ''easier'' than its appearance in ''SoulBlazer'', but not by much.
