* AntiClimaxBoss:
** The boss of world 4; despite his intimidating attack patterns, it's easy to rack up damage by juggling him.
** Lance Banson (the second world boss) is easier than Lady D, the first world boss. He's easy to juggle, and unlike her, his puzzle world gimmick [[HoistByHisOwnPetard can be used against him.]][[note]]Coincidentally, the 4th world boss recycles the same gimmick.[[/note]]
* SugarWiki/AwesomeMusic: [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g6nc77yI3qA&fmt=18 Banson's Aria]], [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=trxtYRtXsE4 Dirty Tricks]], and [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vJzpLAOXMfY&fmt=18 Go, Go, Golden Robo Q!]]. The entire soundtrack is pretty awesome, really.
* BreatherLevel: After 4 or 5 levels in Atlantia and the puzzle realm that are truly and brutally NintendoHard, not to mention [[ThatOneBoss The Captain]]. Level 4-4 goes much smoother with a lot of weak enemies that make a return from the early levels that make great fuel for your Super meter.
* CheeseStrategy:
** You can actually turn [[ThatOneBoss The Captain]] into a [[AntiClimaxBoss complete joke]] if you fill up the Puzzle Meter and activate Tea Time, before using the Golden Robo's laser attack to completely demolish their HP meter as [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=43tPcchyUHU seen here]].
** Despite all the build-up, you can make [[spoiler: Weasleby]] cry uncle if you simply juggle him with your combo attack when the opportunity presents itself. Much like Lance Banson, he also makes the mistake of using an anchor which can be used to your advantage due to it pulling up your puzzle realm screen. In his [[spoiler: World 5 rematch]], he's even easier due to his [[GlassCannon pitiful HP count]].
** The final boss can be made far more bearable if you shoot at its hands during its projectile spread attack and charge up your projectiles using the Puzzle Realm. In Gentleman's Mode, this will allow you to cut through its high HP quicker and get you to the next phase in less time.
* CrackPairing: Lady D/[[spoiler:Robot!]]Weasleby in the epilogue, though it's mostly PlayedForLaughs.
* DemonicSpiders:
** The skull enemies, particularly the ones with axes. And the dancers. Skull Enemies are extra bad because they can only be destroyed by ''other'' skull blocks. Meaning, once you kill a skull enemy, you'll have to kill two others so you can erase them in Puzzle Mode. If you don't, they'll just hang around until they return...
** Any enemy that returns from the Puzzle as a block can become this, especially the skulls.
** The orange brain alien monsters can potentially make players break their DS. They spit bubbles containing their "young" that deal a full heart of damage and knockback, and hitting the bubble releases the tiny monster inside, who is much harder to hit and will continue to attack you. The monsters themselves take a ton of punishment, making a single encounter with one [[MiniBoss its own]] [[BossInMookClothing boss battle]].
* DifficultySpike: The game becomes much harder starting from the second half of World 3/beginning of World 4 and it doesn't let up. And if you're intending to take on the [[BrutalBonusLevel secret levels]], the entirety of [[HarderThanHard Gentleman's]] [[NewGamePlus Mode]] or heaven forbid, the[[BreadEggsBreadedEggs secret levels during Gentleman's Mode]], then ''god help you''.
%%* EnsembleDarkhorse: Lance Banson.
* GermansLoveDavidHasselhoff: According to creator Kyle Gray, the game had a surprisingly high commercial success in Hong Kong.
* GoddamnedBats: At certain points in the levels, the game swarms you with lots of monsters. And they just keep coming...
** Skull-faced puzzle enemies. Not only are they hard to kill, they cannot be rid of unless you match 3 or more skulls in the Puzzle Realm.
** Spear enemies. They force you to duck or risk damage; and they hide behind other enemies.
* SugarWiki/MomentOfAwesome:
** Defeating [[ThatOneBoss The Captain]]. More awesome if you defeat him on the first try.
** And on that note, defeating the final boss. It's even better if you're willing to play it on [[HarderThanHard Gentleman]] [[NewGamePlus Mode.]]
** For a far more frequent Crowning Moment, [[SuperMode Tea Time]]:
--> '''Player, Upon Seeing It For the First Time''': "Huh. Not a bad cut scene, stock musi[[spoiler:'''[[PowerArmor OH MY GOD SUPER ROBOT!]]''']]
--> Just [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6ZhsmN79owM watch it]] and tell me it's not awesome. And this clip doesn't show it firing super beams.
* NightmareFuel: The mud monster in World 5. Doing enough damage turns it into a creepy, zombie-eyed, HUGE puzzle realm block.
* MemeticMutation: TEA TIME, MOTHERFUCKAS!
* {{Squick}}: The sound [[spoiler: The Machine]] makes when it spews garbage blocks into the puzzle screen. It sounds scarily like real vomiting.
* SurpriseDifficulty: It's a colourful, cartoonish platformer/puzzle hybrid developed by EA's Casual division. You wouldn't think it would give Creator/{{Atlus}} games a run for their money, would you?
* SuspiciouslySimilarSong: The Puzzle World's theme is a take on the classic StandardSnippet "Happy Go Lively." Also the first 8 seconds of Go, Go, Golden Robo Q uses the StandardSnippet "Turkish March" before using an original rock and roll theme.
* ThatOneAttack: The Captain's icicle attack can be a real pain to deal with due to several of them coming down at once. It's ''guaranteed'' that one of them will hit the touch screen and freeze the Puzzle Realm for a limited time.
** [[spoiler:The Machine's]] OneHitKill attacks, especially the one where it summons walls to crush you and you only have a few seconds to destroy the buttons on them before the walls crush you. Ironically, it's one of [[spoiler: The Machine's]] easier attacks in Gentleman Mode due to the buttons low HP, though if they're placed high up, the attack can still trip you up. Expect to see this one a lot.
** In Gentleman's Mode, the attack where the junk platforms rise upward while energy balls rise from the centre becomes this due to [[spoiler: The Machine's]] far higher HP total, ensuring that you'll be feeling the pressure to deal enough damage or be crushed to death.
* ThatOneBoss: This game makes a good work of lacking ridiculously easy bosses aside from [[BreatherBoss Lance Banson]] or [[spoiler: Weasleby himself during both fights.]]
** Lady D is the first boss of the game. [[EarlyBirdBoss And what a difficult boss she is.]] Each boss has a unique Puzzle Realm gimmick; hers is shooting beans that sprout and make you unable to move the blocks above them, also serving as a hazard should they reach the top screen. Not to mention her minion summoning, machine-gun attacks and [[BossArenaUrgency destroying part of the arena,]] [[OneHitKill potentially killing you if you fail to dodge.]][[note]]And no, using the Golden Suit will not save you, because the attack can still kill you.[[/note]]
** Everyone seems to agree that The Captain is the hardest of the bunch. For starters, the battle has ''four phases''. First the Nurse uses the Captain as a weapon, throwing him across the screen and trying to bludgeon you. Then the Nurse starts spitting pills filled with enemies. After that comes the boss' Puzzle World gimmick; icicles which render columns unable to be moved for a ''long'' time. At the same time, there are crushing walls - this is a OneHitKill if you fail to hide in the wall. Finally, the battle moves underwater and the Nurse swells up like a balloon; you have to deal with her bouncing all over the screen, the water physics, and regular enemies. Good luck.
** The fight with Weasleby in Level 4-3 is easily the hardest of all the encounters with his hat mech. For starters, it can use a tractor beam to lift up platforms which will hurt if you're misfortunate enough to get stuck in it. And then there's the crushing attack which temporarily takes out one of your platforms. To make things worse, the fight is actually a SequentialBoss where you have to fight a second mech afterwards. The second fight has you dodge purple energy balls which require proper timing to avoid them unscathed, buzzsaws emerging from the left or right which require you to duck to avoid them; the variant that has both saws come out is the worst because you can't attack at all until both buzzsaws finish attacking. After losing enough HP, the mech will drop large pylons which drop onto the ground and either fall left or right. The only attack that can be considered easy is the one where Weasleby summons his henchmen to attack while protecting himself from damage until you defeat them all. Oh, and if you lose all your lives, you have to do the stage from the beginning to attempt this fight again.
** [[spoiler:[[FinalBoss The Machine]]]]. Obscenely high health, attacks that affect ''both'' screens, and those ''OneHitKill attacks'' (see ThatOneAttack above). Worse yet is that you have to go through [[spoiler: a rematch with Weasleby (who thankfully has ''much'' less health, as he's a TrickBoss.)]] And if you're fighting it on [[HarderThanHard Gentleman's Mode]], then you better have gotten all the suit pieces or else you're for in a ''very'' rough fight to the finish.
* ThatOneLevel:
** Level 4-? (Secret Level 1) It's an AutoScrollingLevel so [[SarcasmMode you know this can only end well]]. You're made to deal with the [[StuffBlowingUp red mooks running at you]], use of the Puzzle Realm to create platforms and later on,[[MookMaker Puzzle Mothers]] summoning their spawn in addition to timed jumps with the aforementioned platforms. After that, you have the Hatstacks taking up space on the platforms you need to move on, before combining their placement with moving platforms. After that, it's dealing with the Puzzle Mothers on moving platforms, and usage of the Puzzle Realm to block their spawn, who ''will'' ensure you fall to your demise. The final section is more of the same, and if you fail then its [[CheckpointStarvation back to the start for you.]] Completing this hellish trial unlocks the Gentleman's Vest, which you'll only really need for lava levels.[[note]]Specifically the one secret exit in World 3-4 due to it requiring you to dive into lava.[[/note]]
** Level 4-? (Secret Level 2) has ice physics platforms with enemies that can fire projectiles or spawn several smaller henchmen to ruin your day. It's also the only level in the game to make the normally harmless multicolour puzzle platforms into a nightmare, because they're repurposed here to block off areas with platforms that will crush you unless you destroy the blocks. That's not even counting the section after the MultiMookMelee involving moving platforms that can crush you to death, or more sections involving precise platforming where you have to climb up conveyor belt pillars and across smaller platforms while dealing with more projectile enemies.
