* MemeticMutation: The "Sa-''lute''!" has been widely copied and imitated.
* ParodyDisplacement: Fans of ''WesternAnimation/FamilyGuy'' are only aware of the show thanks to Conway Twitty's performances repeatedly being used as {{Cutaway Gag}}s.
* ValuesDissonance: Some of the jokes were based on sexism, fat shaming and other themes which were perfectly acceptable at the time the show was aired but wouldn't go over well at all today. That said, there was some blowback even in the 1980s, as country star K.T. Oslin (who guest starred in 1987 and performed her iconic "80s Ladies") told producer Sam Lovillo – when he wanted to book her for another appearance – she did not want to appear again on the show; she told Lovillo point blank she didn't approve of the way the Honeys were presented.
* WhatCouldHaveBeen: For several years in the 1970s, Sam Lovillo and others on the production staff worked hard attempting to book Music/ElvisPresley as a guest star. Elvis himself expressed a strong desire to perform on the show but knew that he would need approval – which he then said he'd never get – from his manager, UsefulNotes/ColonelTomParker. Had things actually fallen into place, such an episode would likely have been by far the most famous episode and highest rated, with Elvis himself performing the concert of a lifetime – several of his hits, songs he listened to as a youth, covers of both Roy Clark and Buck Owens' songs, and a gospel song or two – and participating in the skits.
