* HarsherInHindsight: The show's use of underage characters to reference Woody Allen didn't age well, including having Simone refer to him as "sexy" and dedicating an entire high school prom to him.
* HilariousInHindsight: One student sitting at one desktop computer? [[TechnologyMarchesOn That would be considered quaint]] as of TheNewTens and TheNewTwenties, when in many places it's commonplace for every student to be issued their own laptop. Just having ''a single PC'' in a classroom would be quaint even later in TheNineties as the Internet started to establish its foothold.
* ReplacementScrappy: Most of the season 4 and 5 students, as well as Mr. [=MacGregor=].

* StrawmanHasAPoint: Dr. Samuels, in "Most Likely to be Forgotten", isn't wrong to exclude Eric's name from the academic team's trophy. The class protests, complete with pranks against Dr. Samuels, but he is correct when he points out that Eric never liked the academic team and only acted as an alternate on occasion. Eric always acted like he was too good for the team, even mocking his classmates, and he only agreed to be an alternate when it was convenient for him or the team, such as when he joined simply because he wanted a trip to Russia (he wanted to visit his family, it had nothing to do with helping the team).
* ValuesDissonance: Charlie's assumption in "Love at First Byte" that only one of his female students could have been responsible for writing him a love letter. He never once considers any of the boys.
