* AntiClimaxBoss: [[spoiler:Gessler]], once you deal with [[spoiler:his little door surprise]], goes down just like a basic guard [[spoiler:since he's an out of shape CEO with no real fighting experience]]. [[TropesAreTools Doesn't stop it from being satisfying to cave his smug face in]], though, and the game offers [[spoiler:eight fun ways to kill or otherwise defeat Gessler]].
* SugarWiki/AwesomeMusic: A variety of electro-jazz tunes perfect for a FilmNoir heist action-comedy video game. For your enjoyment, "[[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AASeTbHFvSQ The Five-Floor Goodbye]]" (the game's main theme, also used on the trailers).
** Possibly only topped by the music for the final level, appropriately called "Leviathan", a hauntingly horrifying track that reuses some elements from other songs to wrap things up with a bow, making it clear that this is the final mission, while also making it clear that it will ''not'' be easy to take down [[spoiler: Gessler]].
* CrossesTheLineTwice: There's an achievement that can be unlocked by ''punching a guard 100 times''. The amount of punches required to kill a guard is ''ten''.
* DemonicSpiders: Professionals, particularly when aiming for a [[PacifistRun Gentleman ranking]] or otherwise minimizing violence. Professionals have night vision, are incredibly quick to react, and aren't intimidated by the Resolver. While they ''can'' be pounced on and knocked out, doing so risks invalidating certain clauses of missions and lowering the overall rating.
* HilariousInHindsight: One of the achievements from the game (which came out in 2013) is called [[WesternAnimation/Frozen2013 Let It Go]].
* ItsShortSoItSucks: A common complaint with this game, as the story missions can beaten in around 3 hours. The level editor helped mitigate that a bit.
* ScrappyMechanic: Batteries and bullets don't replenish between missions. While the former can be mitigated via battery pick-ups, bullets can ''never be replenished, no matrer what''. This is problematic for replaying the final level, as [[spoiler:one of the eight rewarded ways to deal with Gessler is shooting him]].
* UnintentionallyUnsympathetic: Mark Jackson, the husband of Melanie Rooke. Near the end of the game, you're given what's supposed to be a SadisticChoice; Melanie Rooke knows who killed Selena Delgado - Hightower, the person who left Conway to deal with the police - and she wants you to get the evidence that Gessler, Intex's CEO and that killer's employer, is dirty, and edit it slightly so that Mark Jackson also takes the fall, before telling you about where you can find Hightower. Mark Jackson protests this plan (for obvious reasons) and cites the fact that he's an innocent man getting caught up in a power play between two ruthless corporate leaders. There's a few problems with this, though. First of all, ''Selena was murdered because Jackson was cheating on his wife with her and taking bribes from Gessler to spy on Rooke.'' Selena got caught in the crossfire because Gessler figured out Jackson was going to take the bribe money and jump the country with Selena; thus, by killing Selena, Jackson is basically stuck. Jackson is in no way innocent, conducting corporate espionage and adultery. Not only that, Jackson set up Katie as the fall girl for all this, and this led to Katie getting incarcerated before she ultimately killed herself. Even Rooke points this out when the choice has to be made. The second problem is that Rooke really isn't a terrible person. This one scenario is the only point where she holds information above Conway's head and forces him to work for her lest she keep it secret, and that's only because her ass is in the fire due to Jackson potentially getting away with ''her'' money. Every other time you speak with her, she's shown to be a good employer who cares about her workers. She's heartbroken by the suicide of Katie, and despite the fact Selena was sleeping with her husband, she still shows remorse in regards to Selena's death. You're ''introduced to her'' when she deliberately helps Conway erase any footage that would get him implicated in a murder he did not commit. Contrast Jackson, who keeps secrets, openly threatened Katie's life, and acts like this has nothing to do with him despite the fact he started this whole mess taking bribes. It's pretty easy to take Rooke's side on this one.
