* {{Adorkable}}: Reggie's nerdy moments and his implied crush on Vinnie certainly make him a lovable dork.
* CrackPairing: Max Schneider and Headmistress Crone in "The Grave Intruder". He's not fond of the idea, but she is.
* CreatorsPet: Frankentyke got the majority of episode focus and screen time in an effort to make him the next [[WesternAnimation/TheSimpsons Bart Simpson]], but he isn't very popular with the fans.
* CultClassic: The show only lasted a single season, yet it still has quite a lot of fans (mostly those who remember seeing the show back in the early 1990s).
* EnsembleDarkhorse: Vinnie Stoker tends to be the most popular character of the show.
* FanonWelding: Many people tend to believe that this show takes place in the same universe as ''WesternAnimation/ScoobyDooAndTheGhoulSchool'', and it is common for fanfics to make Reggie related to Winnie.
* GeniusBonus: Sid's impersonations, for starters.
* HilariousInHindsight: One of the recurring students is Rover, a wolf kid voiced by Creator/FrankWelker a'la Franchise/ScoobyDoo, years before Welker would become Scooby's official voice.
* HoYay: Vinnie and Reggie are the most popular ship in Gravedale High's small fandom. In 'Dress Up Mess Up', Vinnie affectionately refers to Reggie as Mr. Schneider's teacher's pet while scratching his ear and in 'Fear of Flying', Vinnie happily flies up to retrieve Reggie's science project.
* IdiosyncraticShipNaming: The modern shipping name for Vinnie/Reggie is 'Boofriends.'
* OneTrueThreesome: Not common but some fans don't mind having Vinnie involved with both Reggie and Duzer.
* PortmanteauCoupleName: In the early days of the fandom, 'Veggie' for Vinnie/Reggie. This has since been replaced with the idiosyncratic ship name, 'Boofriends.'
* SoBadItsGood: A silly 90s cartoon made to cash in on the success of Rick Moranis, starring him as a teacher in a school for horror monsters. The animation is inconsistent, the characters are one-note, and it contains multiple high school clichés yet is still entertaining.
* UglyCute: Every student in Max's class is on at least some level adorable in spite of being monsters.
* ValuesDissonance:
** "Cleo's Pen Pal" revolves around Cleo having a crush on a TV actor named Billy Headstone, who is most likely considerably older than she is. The ending where Billy finally meets her and Blanche and Max Schneider remark what a great couple they'd make is uncomfortable to watch nowadays, considering how our society has come to shun older people having relationships with underage teenagers.
** Speaking of Cleo, all of the fatphobic "jokes" made about her are definitely not acceptable today, with more attention being placed on body positivity instead.
* TheWoobie:
** Reggie in "Monster on Trial". He keeps blaming himself for not being a good driver, and it's made worse by the fact that he [[spoiler:accidentally bumps into old lady Fresno]].
** Max becomes this in "Good-Bye Gravedale". It turns out he was going to be a teacher at Midtown Prep, but turned it down once he got news of being applied because he's grown accustomed to Gravedale. And when the gang finds his application, they feel betrayed and misbehave out of spite, causing him to transfer to Midtown Prep. [[spoiler:He comes back to Gravedale, incognito as Mr. Creepers.]]
