* CrossesTheLineTwice: Buying a super-powered lawnmower and using it against your enemies to avenge your friend's death? Morally questionable. Bloody hilarious.
* FanPreferredCutContent: A mild one, but some people prefer the original ending scene, which shows both the blue gnomes and the red gnomes living in harmony in a WhereAreTheyNowEpilogue rather than doing the stereotypical DancePartyEnding of most animated films.
* HarsherInHindsight: In the Latin Spanish dub, Juliet's name is altered to Julieta. In 2017, Juliet's Latin Spanish voice actress, Creator/HiromiHayakawa, passed away due to childbirth complications, which the baby did not survive either. The baby's name? Julieta.
* SugarWiki/HeartwarmingMoments
** Gnomeo and Juliet's love for each other serves as the movie's main plot. And unlike the source material, .
** When it becomes apparent than he can't free Juliet from the glue holding her to the castle, with the Terrafirminator about to demolish it, Gnomeo would rather die with her than leave her side.
** The epilogue, including Benny ordering a new flamingo for Featherstone (and she turns out to be Featherstone's lost love!), Gnomeo and Juliet's wedding, and the fish joining in.
* HilariousInHindsight: With Creator/JamesMcAvoy as Gnomeo talking to Creator/PatrickStewart as a Shakespeare statue, you basically have the young Professor X seeking advice from his older self - a whole three years before that actually happened. For an added bonus, Stewart's character is rooted to his pedestal, meaning he can't walk.
* HoYay: Tybalt and Fawn have their moments.
* NightmareFuel:
** It could've been worse for Benny if Tybalt chopped off his head.
** Though ceramic models shattering is not a typically violent or grisly sight, the film makes it seem incredibly unnerving when shown from the perspectives of the Gnomes themselves. Tybalt's death and Gnomeo's own DisneyDeath are surprisingly effective and chilling, even when not shown onscreen.
** The Terrafirminator can be this for some, especially once it goes out of control.
* OlderThanTheyThink: The film is often known for being the only G-rated film from Creator/TouchstonePictures, which was otherwise supposed to be Creator/Disney’s DarkerAndEdgier label, but the film Film/YouAgain received a U/G rating in most countries while the US release got a PG with negotiations, and the initial 1998 US release of Anime/KikisDeliveryService was through Touchstone despite being a G-rated family film.
* OneSceneWonder: Gnomeo's conversation with the statue of Shakespeare played by Sir Creator/PatrickStewart no less.
* SignatureScene: Featherstone’s Backstory set to “Love Built a Garden.” or Gnomeo and Juliet's first meeting set to "Hello Hello".
* SoOkayItsAverage: Honestly, it's an innocent children's movie, but it's not exactly a remarkable one.
* TearJerker: Here.
