* BigLippedAlligatorMoment: Girl-chan's response to Swirly Glasses in Episode 1.
* EvenBetterSequel: The second episode is much longer and of better quality. The third is even longer, and drawn in greater detail.
* HilariousInHindsight[=/=]HarsherInHindsight: Depending on how one looks at it, Episode 3. After the Green Guy [[spoiler:goes kamikaze on Maytag, gets into an argument with Kenstar over his character dying, and]] learns that there will be a flashback (... in Episode 23), he exasperatedly remarks "That's it?! That's, like, three months from now!" It's been years and we haven't even received a fourth episode, let alone a twenty-third one. On the bright side, now he can say he's been in as many episodes as the rest of the cast!
* HoYay: Invoked; the series makes a number of allusions to Yusuke's obsession with Kenstar being something besides rivalry. The opening even refers to him as "kinda strong, but mostly gay."
* MemeticMutation:
** "WHAAAAAAAAT is this place?".
** "THAT EXPLAINS EVERYTHING!", especially in Wha-Chow.
** "Thaaaaaat X"
%%* NightmareFuel:
%%** Girl-chan herself.
%%** "Mother... MOOOOTHEEEERR!!!! AAAAARRRRRRGGGGHHH!!!!" - cut to credits.
%%* TheScrappy: Girl-chan seems to be an in-universe example (except for Swirly Glasses).
* TheUntwist: Yusuke being a Captain/Bushido Blaster is this both in and out-of-universe. His face is clearly seen in the wall of scribbles that's supposed to be the Bushido Blaster's portraits, and when he reveals himself, nobody's surprised except Green Guy (and Kenstar reacts more with mild annoyance.)
