!!The Disney movie:
* EvilIsSexy: Queen Elsa.
* GirlShowGhetto: Changing the title from ''The Snow Queen'' and not allowing the heroine to go the adventure solo (as she does in the original fairy tale) in favor of teaming her up with a man smacks of this thinking.
* InternetBackdraft:
** The switch to CGI and the ''Disney/{{Tangled}}''-like title was not well-recieved in the slightest. The sheer fact that some insiders and [[WordOfGod John Lasseter]] himself said that the opening sequence of the cel-animated version was some of the best hand-drawn animation Disney has ever done didn't help.
** Things have been getting even worse with the announced plot bearing almost no resemblance to the source material.
** The reveal that the heroine will have a man accompany her on her journey (she took it alone in the original tale) reeks of UnfortunateImplications. What did this lead to? You guessed it - another backdraft!

!!The 2010 film:
* DamselScrappy: Parker.
* EnsembleDarkhorse: Joe Lynch
* HellIsThatNoise: That horrible slicing sound that happens every time Joe [[spoiler:moves his hands across the suspension cable]], the sound when [[spoiler:Parker is pulling her hand from the safety bar]], and the sound [[spoiler:Dan's legs]] make when he's trying to grab the makeshift tourniquets.
* IdiotPlot: It's the reason they get stuck.
* NauseaFuel:
** [[spoiler:Wolves + injured moron = gruesome.]]
** [[spoiler:Dan's legs. Arrrrrggh.]]
* NightmareFuel: Most notably, the [[spoiler:state of Joe's body.]]
* {{Squick}}: [[spoiler:Dan's broken legs. Parker's hand after it gets stuck to the safety bar. Joe's cable-shredded hands. Joe's partially devoured corpse.]]
* TearJerker: The immediate aftermath of [[spoiler:Dan's death]], and the scene where Parker is talking about her puppy.
* TooCoolToLive: [[spoiler:Joe Lynch.]] So sad.
* WhatAnIdiot: Much of what the trio does, both before and after getting stuck on the lift, tends to elicit this reaction from the audience:
** Nobody tries to rearrange their gear to better protect their exposed skin from the cold, or even simply zip up their coats. Joe couldn't even be bothered to pull up his hood.
** [[spoiler:Dan's decision to jump is not a good idea, but he might have come out of it with relatively minor injuries had he not a) jumped in the ''uphill'' direction, and b) landed feet first, knees locked.]]
** [[spoiler:When the guy with the snow plow passes by, the guys try to get his attention by throwing some of their equipment at it. Parker throws ''her glove'' at it.]]
** [[spoiler:Though Joe does eventually succeed in making it to the ladder on the support pole, he utterly destroys his hands on the overhead steel cable getting there. Never does he consider using his ski pole instead of his hands to hold on to the cable, or at least turning his gloves around when the cable eats through them. Then, he climbs down the ladder while the wolves are standing at the bottom of it.]]
** [[spoiler:When Parker manages to get down and makes it to the road, she immediately lays down in the middle of it. Luckily the van that eventually comes by swerves to avoid running her over.]]
