* SugarWiki/AwesomeMusic: [[AwesomeMusic/FooFighters All of it, really]].
* BreakupBreakout: After all this time, it's easy to forget that Dave was once a member of [[Music/{{Nirvana}} one of the most important bands in history.]]
** It should be noted, however, that the Nirvana B Side "Marigold" was a Grohl composition that featured him on vocals, Grohl had already written and demoed most of the first album songs in 1992, and he had also released a self-released cassette album called "Pocketwatch" by Late!. However, these would have been of minimal interest beyond the most obsessive member, but if Nirvana had stayed, it's possible Grohl might have broken out on his own anyway, given his various abilities.
* BrokenBase: After the band refused to let their songs be featured on ''Series/{{Glee}}'', their fandom experienced mild turmoil over whether or not it was a good thing. Not that it particularly bothered Taylor Hawkins, for example, whose response to ''Glee'' in general was [[CrowningMomentOfFunny "Fuck that shit."]]
* EarWorm
** Deliberately invoked by "Exhausted," the last track of the debut album. Dave ended the song with a slow fadeout over a repetitive riff intending for the riff to keep going in the listener's head.
* EpicRiff: The talk box intro of "Generator". "Everlong". "All My Life". "Stacked Actors". "Hey, Johnny Park!". "Rope" and the ever popular "Best Of You".
* FaceOfTheBand:
** Dave Grohl. In fact, the first album was [[IAmTheBand made completely by him]], with the help of a producer and only the guitar part in "X-Static" played by another musician (Greg Dulli of the Afghan Whigs).
** Dave himself was on the other side of this trope with Nirvana. Nirvana was Cobain. Many people wouldn't even know Dave Grohl was part of it.
* GermansLoveDavidHasselhoff:
** Their native US has Nirvana's shadow hanging over the band much thicker than elsewhere in the world. Whilst they sell many records and play arenas in the US, their popularity there is nothing compared to that in the UK, where in recent years they have sold out massive outdoor shows in minutes, months in advance. By Dave's own admission, the UK treats them like they are "the biggest band in the world", and while he can walk around cities like Los Angeles largely unrecognized, he gets mobbed on the streets in the UK.
** Literally with 'Wheels'. Dave has mentioned on several occasions that apparently Germany is the only country where they can play the song with the crowd singing along. Most American crowds tend to be bored and most Asian crowds aren't bothered with it.
* GrowingTheBeard: Many fans consider the 3rd album, ''There Is Nothing Left to Lose'', as the band's best.
* HilariousInHindsight: [[http://www.fooarchive.com/features/kaug05.htm "Who would you least like to see naked?]] [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k-Cvgm7Fp8w Any member of my band."]]
* MemeticBadass[=/=]MemeticSexGod: Dave again.
* MemeticMutation: IS SOMEONE GETTING THE BEST THE BEST THE BEST THE BEST [[OverlyLongGag THE BEST]]... [[note]][[BeamMeUpScotty The most it is said in a row is four times]], but for how it's played it's easy enough to think otherwise.[[/note]]
* SignatureSong: "Everlong"
* SongAssociation: "Everlong" is a great song, but some us who have played ''VideoGame/RockBand 2'' may be sick of it, and think about how much we have played it.
* WinBackTheCrowd: ''Wasting Light'' finished the winning back that ''Echoes'' started after the relatively poor ''One By One'' and ''In Your Honor'' releases had lost some of the fans.
