* ArchiveBinge: On top of 15 full studio albums, 1 soundtrack album, at least 18 [=EPs=], and several video albums and films, they have countless B-sides, covers, and outtakes, not to mention side projects and singles, and are still consistently releasing new material.
* SugarWiki/AwesomeMusic: Any album from ''In a Priest Driven Ambulance'' onwards.
* GrowingTheBeard:
** While there's a lot to love about the band's earliest material, most fans agree that it wasn't until their fourth album, ''In a Priest Driven Ambulance'', that they really started getting great. Even then, it wasn't until their ''9th'' album, ''Music/TheSoftBulletin'', released close to two decades into their career, when they finally had what many consider to be not only their best album but one of the best albums of the 1990s.
** For the literal-minded, ''Music/TheSoftBulletin'' also marks the debut of Wayne Coyne's now trademark facial fuzz.
* SugarWiki/HeartwarmingMoments: "The Spiderbite Song", at least when you learn the song is mainly about Wayne Coyne's concern and sympathy for his band mates as they found themselves in some dangerous situations during the recording of the album: The first verse is about an infection on Steven Drozd's hand that nearly caused his arm to be amputated [[note]]The "spiderbite" of the title, though it was later revealed to be caused by his heroin use instead[[/note]], while the second verse details Michael Ivins having a freak automobile accident that caused him to be trapped in his car for several hours.
* SugarWiki/MomentOfAwesome:
** Their song "[[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5zYOKFjpm9s Do You Realize??]]" is officially the Official State Rock Song of Oklahoma. All US States have state songs (except [[http://www.nj.com/politics/index.ssf/2014/09/5_state_songs_for_nj_lawmakers_want_to_make_it_happen.html New Jersey]]), but only Ohio ("Hang On Sloopy" by The [=McCoys=]) and Washington State ("[[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wx-8_GI4d2c Louie Louie]]" by The Kingsmen) also have State Rock Songs, which makes this achievement all the more impressive.
** Their concerts are this, with balloons and confetti and Wayne rolling over the audience in a plastic ball. Not to mention the music.
** They also a have a street named after them in the Bricktown Entertainment District in Oklahoma City. It's little more than an alley though, but that's still pretty cool.
* NewbieBoom: Somewhat noticeable after "She Don't Use Jelly" became an unexpected hit, definitely noticeable during the ''Soft Bulletin''/''Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots'' period.
** The band saw another one thanks to the game ''VideoGame/HiFiRush'' using a cover of "Free Radicals".
* NightmareFuel: The ending to the music video for "Watching the Planets."
** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rrHpGz6I7Dk "Squishy Glass".]]
* SuspiciouslySimilarSong: They were sued by Cat Stevens for plagiarizing his "Father And Son" for their song "Fight Test" and now he's legally credited as a co-writer. The band have admitted "Take Meta Mars" was heavily inspired by {{Music/Can}}'s "Mushroom" [[note]]specifically, it was an experiment in HalfRememberedHomage, where they tried to replay "Mushroom" from memory having only heard it once[[/note]], and that "Chrome-Plated Suicide" came about when Wayne Coyne was trying to learn to play [[Music/GunsNRoses "Sweet Child O' Mine"]].
** The main riff for "The Ceiling Is Bending" is almost identical to the early Music/AliceCooper song "Levity Ball".
