* AlternativeCharacterInterpretation: [[AlternativeCharacterInterpretation/FinalFantasy Here.]]
* CargoShip: Nacht/[[spoiler:Graham]].
* ComplacentGamingSyndrome: Expect most of the players to use Dark Knight Nacht, Magus Alba, and Seer Dusk for endgame party. The other two party members tend to vary, but Paladin Aigis and Dragoon Sol seem to be used the most, thanks to GameplayAndStoryIntegration.
* DiscOneNuke:
** For Warriors of Light, Boost Jump (Enrage + Jump). It only requires Warrior level 7 and can be obtained as soon as Dragoon is unlocked.
** As for Warriors of Darkness, Smash (Lotus Strike + Precise Shot). Level up a Monk until level 4, job change to a Ranger, and use either abilities.
* EnsembleDarkhorse: A portion of the fanbase has latched onto Barbara. Let's count the possible reasons -- Dragoon (which are always popular), ActionGirl (only the [[VideoGame/FinalFantasyIX third]] [[VideoGame/FinalFantasyXIII time]] these two have been combined), {{Stripperific}}, redhead (again, one of the few with [[VideoGame/FinalFantasyIII Refia]] and [[VideoGame/CrisisCore Cissnei]]), and she has the advantage of her tale being the first of the game to be announced, so she got much more exposure and attention than subsequent characters.
* FanNickname: A specific EliteTweak for the Memorist, which involves only levelling up as a Red Mage and setting Recollect for [[MagicKnight equal strength and magical stats]], is commonly known as the "Super Red Mage". An offshoot that trades strength for more magic power is considered the game's closest equivalent to the Sage class.
* FanPreferredCouple: Many favor Sol/Sarah more than Sol/Diana (the ShipTease during Memorist's Tale probably helps). Nacht/Diana is surprisingly popular, [[ShipMates especially for those who also ship]] [[spoiler:Glaive/Alba]].
* GameBreaker:
** The Fusion Ability gives you many techniques to try them out on bosses. Notable examples including Hastega, Mighty Wall, White Wind, Final Heaven, and Midareyuki.
** A Jobless with Recollect who Doublehand the strongest weapon can dish out a pretty nasty physical damage.
* HoYay:
** Vata seems to enjoy teasing Sol a bit too much, and he is ''always'' the first who notices Vata's presence in every single of their encounters. [[spoiler:Not to mention Sol is very desperate when the party is forced to kill Vata. He also specifically mentions Vata as someone he doesn't want to let down when Diana asks why he keeps moving forward.]]
** Sigurd and Graham. [[spoiler:Makes you wonder why Graham chose to inhabit Sigurd's armor of all things.]]
** Many have misinterpret Aigis and Dusk's conversation in Ashmonte (he just wants to clarify [[spoiler:Dusk's allegiance]]) as[[NotWhatItLooksLike ...something else]].
** Alba is keenly interested in the Dirty Magazine and reads over Nacht's shoulder to comment on interesting pages. She's also very solicitous over Diana and jokingly casts herself as the hero to Diana's damsel-in-distress at one point.
* NightmareFuel: The final boss. Without a doubt, [[spoiler:Emperor Elgo]] did it to himself, but all three forms are horrifying. First is a near-sphere of warped flesh and indeterminate organs with one hand in the remnants of its sleeve cradling a face that sports a ThousandYardStare. The Dark Form is a more recognizable head with hair--screaming, with many faces screaming beneath its chin, tentacles for ears, and one of those tentacles dangling the hollow shell of the man's former body by a headless neck. The Light Form is a huge and impassive face caught below a pair of chained-up arms, and this time his old body is dangling upside-down by its feet in the tangle of limbs.
* ThatOneBoss: Hecatoncheir from Dark Knight's Tale has caused frustration for many. It can heal itself, cause a massive AOE damage with Quake, and attack up to three times in a row. It also loves to use Whack, which has a high chance of confusing whoever it hits while also doing a lot of damage. The kicker to this is that you have to kill him ''three'' times for it to stick, with the last hit needing to be from Graham, the Dark Knight who comes to help you. As you can't see Hecatoncheir's HP even with Libra, you're forced to hold back with your other units while Graham uses his abilities, because killing the boss with anyone else will resurrect him with full HP.
