* AlternateCharacterInterpretation: Either Trip is a scared young girl with understandable motivations, who's sympathetic despite her actions, or a calculating bitch who will exploit anyone and anything to get what she wants. Any forum thread concerning ''Enslaved'' will have a fair number of people defending either interpretation.
* CultClassic: Sales were poor, but those who play the game rather enjoy it.
* EnjoyTheStorySkipTheGame: The gameplay is consistently cited as the game's weakest point, but the performances, visuals, and writing is agreed to make up for it.
* ItsEasySoItSucks: A common complaint by reviewers. Game Informer cited how the game apparently ''won't let you jump'' unless you'll land safely.
* JerkassWoobie: Trip makes some awful decisions over the course of the game, but you can't help but feel bad for her.
* NightmareFuel: Certain Mechs are sure to be this.
** The death of the slave that is threatened into assisting Monkey.
** The screams of the slaves trapped within coffin sized cells. No, there is no way to help them.
** The Dog stalking you in the theater.
* OlderThanTheyThink: Some people started to complain this series was ripping off ''Manga/DragonBall''. Both are inspired by ''Literature/JourneyToTheWest''.
* PolishedPort: The game runs very well on the PC.
* TearJerker:
** At one point, Trip and Monkey stumble upon an aquarium where the fish inside it have survived for almost 200 years by building their own ecosystem. Moments later, a Mech destroy said aquarium.
** [[spoiler:Pigsy's HeroicSacrifice.]]
** The DLC ends with Pigsy realizing too late that his robot buddy, Truffles, was always been his friend but he was too stubborn to realize it and took him for granted. In his final moments, Truffles gives out one last smile before shutting down permanently. [[spoiler:It's no wonder Pigsy is willing to follow Trip and Monkey on a suicide mission and willingly sacrificed himself. He doesn't want to lose his friends again]].
* SugarWiki/VisualEffectsOfAwesome: The animation is beautiful to look at, and has aged very well since the game's debut. Aside from the [[SceneryPorn stunning world design]], there's also the character animations. Monkey, Trip, and Pigsy all look incredibly lifelike without falling into UnintentionalUncannyValley.
