* SugarWiki/AwesomeMusic: Lots of it. ''Come My Fanatics...'', ''Dopethrone'', and ''Witchcult Today'' stand out as particularly strong releases.
* EpicRiff: "Dunwich" has an absolutely crushing, bluesy one as its component hook. Other good examples include "Behemoth," "Electric Wizard," "Wizard in Black," "Funeralopolis," and "Dopethrone." From their later work, there's the riff powering "Venus in Furs".
* HypeBacklash: ''Dopethrone'', [[OvershadowedByAwesome virtually eclipsing the rest of their career,]] is the target of this. A common criticism is how disjointed and meandering the album is (even by the standards of DoomMetal) and some fans point out its incredibly dense sound [[OlderThanTheyThink was already a thing]] on ''Come My Fanatics...''.
* {{Narm}}: The lyrics of "Satanic Rites of Drugula" are NightmareRetardant at its finest, though it's made a bit more creepy once you find out its FridgeHorror -- it's about a man artificially transformed into a beast by his master / mistress, the latter of whom injects their victims with dope before his / her subject kills them.
* NightmareFuel:
** The lyrics of "I, the Witchfinder".
* SuspiciouslySimilarSong:
** Some parts of "Dopethrone" sound like Music/BlackSabbath's "Iron Man."
** They've adopted part of the main riff of "Sabbath Bloody Sabbath" to "Black Mass."
*** These both seem to be because of their love for Music/BlackSabbath.
