* AssPull: The revelation that Eddie was the biological father of Wrestling/{{Rey Mysterio|Jr}}'s son Wrestling/{{Dominik|Mysterio}} came out of absolutely nowhere.
* SugarWiki/AwesomeMusic: His WWE theme music, which were basically one celebration of stereotypes after another, were much better than they had any right to be — just like Eddie himself. Except, perhaps, his and Wrestling/{{Chavo|GuerreroJr}}'s WWE Originals theme, which some consider SoBadItsGood anyway. When his fall 2005 theme (the one fans called "Gangsta Lean") was finally released as part of the fourteenth volume of Jim Johnston's ''Uncaged'' album series[[labelnote:*]]though this did involve an unauthorized leak, then a release of the original unused version of the theme as "Crackin'" in the third volume, and finally a proper release of the TV version under the title "I'm Your Papi"[[/labelnote]], it was met with unanimous approval, as that theme spent all those fifteen years sitting on A LOT of people's wishlists.
* DracoInLeatherPants: Following his return to WWE in 2002, Eddie was cheered by fans whether he was a heel or a face. About three years later, he had to virtually murder Rey Mysterio to get fans to boo him and then threaten to take Rey's son away in an insultingly illogical angle for fans to actively want him to lose to Rey.
* EnsembleDarkhorse: After achieving Mexican hero status in CMLL and AAA, Eddie was a darkhorse in ECW, WCW, and the WWF; it wasn't until he returned to WWE post-rehab that he became a true international superstar.
* EvilIsCool: "Lie, Cheat and Steal"
* FanNickname: The trio of Wrestling/ChrisBenoit, Wrestling/DeanMalenko and Guerrero were referred to as "The Holy Trinity" or "The New Japan 3."
* GrowingTheBeard: Eddie was always a good wrestler and popular with the fans but his second run in WWE after overcoming his drug addictions really stands out as the point where his natural charisma really took off with fans. Getting rid of the mullet probably helped a bit, too. Despite the nature of his personal life being a little dark, an "Eddie Guerrero redemption story" would fit in perfectly in the PG era, and would still be fantastic.
* HarsherInHindsight:
** In the ''[=SmackDown=] vs Raw 2006'' video game, Eddie was featured in a storyline that ended with Wrestling/TheUndertaker burying him alive. The game was released the weekend of his death. If you lived in PAL territories, you got the game & possibly played the storyline before Eddie's death, but the game wasn't released in America until ''two days after he had died''.
** During the comedy skits at the ''2005 Royal Rumble'' when Eddie stole Wrestling/RicFlair's entry number and wallet, Wrestling/TripleH yells at Eddie, "You're a dead man, Guerrero!"
** During Eddie's first match in WCW after getting into a serious car accident, the commentators make almost non-stop remarks about how great he looks and how it doesn't even look like he was in any pain after the accident. It was due to this accident that he started abusing drugs.
** The promo for Eddie Guerrero vs Wrestling/{{J|ohnBradshawLayfield}}BL at ''Wrestling/JudgmentDay 2004'' could count as well. In the promo, Eddie had invited his family into the ring when JBL showed up. JBL took out Eddie with a belt shot then turned towards Eddie's mother, who (in-story) suffered a heart attack. Knowing what we know now as to how Eddie died (the same way), it makes this promo harder to watch.
** Wrestling/{{No Way Out|WWE}} 2004 had more of the same, with Wrestling/BrockLesnar screaming at Eddie to just die already.
** One ''after'' his death: during the tribute show, Chris Benoit's vignette mentioned how close he and Eddie were, and that Eddie was the only person who could talk him out of doing something he'd regret. [[MurderSuicide Considering what Benoit would end up doing]] two years later, it makes Eddie's death harder to swallow.
* HesJustHiding: For a few months after his death, namely during Rey Mysterio's push to the World title at [=WrestleMania=], there was a number of fans that were throwing around the theory that WWE was doing this with Eddie & he would wind up returning to help Rey win the World title, since Eddie's character was a pathological liar. Turns out Eddiesploitation, urban legends, emotional ties to beloved figures, and a very well-faked post "speculating" as to what was going on made a potent enough combination to cause doubt as to ''a man's death''.
* HilariousInHindsight: Considering that everyone thought the Dominik storyline was stupid, it's pretty funny that Dominik started actually leaning into acting like late WCW Eddie after he turned heel in 2022, culminating in Dominik declaring that he'd wish Eddie was his real father.
* MisaimedFandom: After a few weeks of frustration concerning tag partner [[Wrestling/YoshihiroTajiri Tajiri]], Eddie Guerrero went [[BerserkButton berserk when Tajiri touched his low-rider]] (in reality, Tajiri had been thrown into the car by Wrestling/SheltonBenjamin) and tossed Tajiri into the windshield. The next ''[=SmackDown=]'', Eddie cut a promo saying that he was only going to look after number one, which was supposed to be a heel turn, but the fans had begun to buy into the Lie, Cheat, and Steal face persona cultivated just a few weeks prior with Los Guerreros' feud with [[Wrestling/TheWorldsGreatestTagTeam Team Angle]] that the action fit the criteria, and the crowd ''cheered'' for Eddie. Suffice to say, Eddie stayed a babyface and the only part that stuck was the split between him and Tajiri opening the door for Chavo to resume their partnership after returning from injury.
* NightmareFuel:
** Eddie's match against JBL at ''Judgement Day 2004.'' Eddie bladed ''way'' too deep when JBL hit him with a steel chair and nicked an artery, causing the blood to ''spurt'' from his head. By the time the match was over, [[BloodyHorror the entire ring was red with Eddie's blood]] and Eddie went into shock, forcing him to be rushed to hospital for an emergency transfusion. It's ''horrific'' to watch, and if it happened today WWE would absolutely have put a stop to it in an ''instant.''
** Eddie's final FaceHeelTurn in 2005 against Rey Mysterio that marks a DarkerAndEdgier shift in his persona. He busts Rey open by ramming his head on the ring post, rips open the mask to show him as a bloody pulp, and finishes the NoHoldsBarredBeatdown by suplexing him on the steel steps. The camera shows several people in attendance in horror as to what they just witnessed, with Wrestling/MichaelCole and Wrestling/{{Tazz}} speaking in horror and disgust over Eddie's actions and change in attitude.
* SacredCow: One of a handful of wrestlers who no one can say anything bad about without incurring the wrath of the wrestling community. Someone once called him a “B+ player,” which led to responses from fans and people in the business alike jumping to defend Eddie.
