* BrokenBase: Just about every Leppard fan loves ''Pyromania'', but other than that they're split between people who prefer what came before it and people who like what came after it.
* ChorusOnlySong: "Pour Some Sugar on Me".
* [[SugarWiki/HeartwarmingMoments Crowning Moment of Heartwarming]]: The band never considered replacing the drummer.
* [[SugarWiki/MomentOfAwesome Crowning Moment of Awesome]]: Rick Allen's comeback concert at Donnington Music Festival.
** Think Rick can't do drum solos anymore thanks to his missing arm? [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-7u_YblPBrs THINK AGAIN]].
* FanonDiscontinuity: ''Slang.'' The band even started phasing out songs ''during the supporting tour for the album'' once they realized fans weren't into them.
* HarsherInHindsight: "Wasted" is a bit uncomfortable to listen to in light of both Pete Willis and Steve Clark having issues with alcoholism after its release, with it resulting in the latter's tragic death.
* GeniusBonus: One scene of ''Hysteria: The Def Leppard Story'' shows Phil and Steve arriving at a video shoot riding a two-seated bicycle. This mirrors an anecdote they tell about renting a two-seater and riding it to a concert sound check.
** The same scene invokes their nickname "The Terror Twins." Oddly, this more well-known bit of trivia is only mentioned the one time.
* GermansLoveDavidHasselhoff: They concentrated their early efforts on breaking into the American market and did well there with ''Pyromania'' and "Photograph". They didn't have a proper hit in their home country until "Animal" was released a full decade after they formed and ''Hysteria'' became a huge seller. This prompted some less clued in critics to assume they were American "Bon Jovi rip-offs". UK fans were accusing them of selling out as early as the release of "Hello America" from "On Through the Night". "Another Hit and Run" was written as a response to people in the U.K. constantly criticizing them for nonsensical reasons(to the point of even pelting the band with objects during the Reading Festival)
* GrowingTheBeard: ''Pyromania'' is regarded as the album where the band's songwriting, sound and style came together completely.
* ProtectionFromEditors: They actually became pretty irritated by this trend during Jim Steinman's brief tenure as producer for ''Hysteria'' - they were used to Mutt Lange getting them to do endless takes of a song and then tirelessly edit them into a finished product, whereas Steinman was happy to use takes in which the band hadn't even tuned their guitars because it "sounded honest".
** Since then, the band has been happy to mention that Jim Steinman was famous for being a great ''songwriter'', just not a great producer for the sound they were looking for.
* ReplacementScrappy: Vivian Campbell, who replaced Steve Clark in 1991, is considered one by some fans, despite the fact that he's now been in the band over twice as long as Clark.
* SignatureSong: "Pour Some Sugar On Me" and "Rock of Ages".
* TheyChangedItNowItSucks: Many fans feel this way towards Vivian Campbell.
** Many fans also felt this way about ''Slang'', as it featured a more alternative rock-influenced sound in contrast to their signature poppy hard rock.
** "X" also got this to a degree as it was the first time the band used outside songwriters (who were best known for writing for pop acts like Music/BritneySpears and Music/BackstreetBoys) and the album had a more pop-rock sound.
