* Anvilicious: See SomeAnvilsNeedToBeDropped. Think of ''{{M}}'', which had quite a similar mindset.
* FairForItsDay: Even though it may not have been [[{{M}} the first film to do this]], ''EGAHT'' not only did a good job of portraying child murder and paedophilia in a time it was controversial (the late fifties, see ''Boys Beware!''), but even managed to make the killer somewhat sympathetic).
* SomeAnvilsNeedToBeDropped: ''EGAHT'' has this, naturally, as a film about raising public awareness about the safety of children. The novelisation takes it UpToEleven by [[spoiler:initiating a BittersweetEnding to explain that in RealLife, there is much less chance of catching the killers than in fiction, and that affected people would have to live with this notion.]]
