* ArchivePanic: The show currently has 124 episodes as of June 2022. It would take two and a half days to watch all of them without a break.
* BrokenBase: On one side, people praise it for bringing back memories of ''Mister Rogers''', or just praise it as a standalone series. On the other side, people pan the Adobe Flash (and the computer generated animation, if they've actually seen an episode) and the series for being too cartoonish and not staying true to ''Rogers''. And the less said about what they did to Lady Elaine-Fairchild, the better...
* FandomRivalry:
** An unfortunate one with fans of ''WesternAnimation/WordParty''- due to Netflix dropping this (along with several Creator/NineStoryMediaGroup shows) from its lineup shortly before premiering the former, several parents blamed the former as the reason "Netflix cancelled Daniel Tiger" on Netflix's Facebook page.[[note]]Ultimately, this turned out to be a severe case of MisBlamed- it turns out that the real reason was that [[http://www.ew.com/article/2016/07/01/amazon-prime-pbs-kids-deal Amazon had snatched the rights for streaming PBSKids shows out of the hands of Netflix]]. However, isn't this supposed to be illegal in the US and the FTC should move to block these kinds of deals?[[/note]]
** Also a rivalry with fans of other PBS Kids shows. Fans of ''Daniel'' are happy with how much [[AdoredByTheNetwork attention]] the show gets from PBS, but fans of other PBS Kids shows feel like their favorites are being left out. For example, PBS Kids released a DVD for the TV movie ''Tiger Family Trip'' right away, but didn't release [=DVDs=] for the TV movies that premiered over the summer of 2017 from other shows. Additionally, they sometimes include episodes of Daniel on [=DVDs=] with other PBS Kids shows, even when the included story is only tangentially related to the theme. [[note]]"Daniel's Day of Many Feelings" is on the Ocean Adventures DVD when the only ocean-related content in the episode is the ImagineSpot[[/note]]
** It also has one with fans of ''Series/DonkeyHodie'', another ''Mister Rogers''-inspired series, because of the styles of the two shows being vastly different, with ''Donkey Hodie'' being fast-paced and ''Daniel Tiger'' being slow-paced.
* GermansLoveDavidHasselhoff: It seems to be popular in Italy, where it airs on Cartoonito.
* HeartwarmingInHindsight: In one week of ''Mr. Rogers'' episodes, Prince Tuesday is left in the care of babysitters, and has to be helped through it. Now, he's been able to pay it forward.
* IKnewIt: Considering the high proportion of male characters already on the show, those familiar with the importance of the concept of the GenderEqualEnsemble in preschool television could have guessed pretty easily that the baby the Tigers were expecting would be a girl.
** Some fans correctly guessed that O would [[spoiler: only bring his uncle with him]] at the "Mom and Me" game night in the episode, "A Game Night for Everyone".
* MisBlamed: The core reason of the FandomRivalry. In a glaring example of the ''Most Visible Target'' fallacy, many fans of this show blamed ''WesternAnimation/WordParty'' as the reason this show was dropped from Netflix, as the show (along with a whole plathora of Creator/NineStoryMediaGroup shows) was dropped days before ''Word Party'' premiered. The real reason is that [[http://www.ew.com/article/2016/07/01/amazon-prime-pbs-kids-deal Amazon had just snatched the rights out of Netflix's hands by signing a (legally questionable) multi-year exclusive deal to stream PBSKids shows]].
* {{Moe}}: Let's get the elephant out of the room: every single one of the kids are flat-out ''adorable.''
* NarmCharm:
** In 'Daniel Uses His Words", Miss Elaina tosses Daniel's toy [[CompanionCube Tigey]], and just the way that he was being thrown, Tigey was being tossed in [[SpecialEffectsFailure SLOW MOTION]] and with the dramatic music along with it, [[SoundtrackDissonance which doesn't fit the moment so well]]. There's just something dang funny about it.
** "Mad at the Beach" has Daniel scowling at the camera, red-faced and all, and still using his angry voice when he asks us how we'd feel if a wave knocked over our sandcastle.
* PeripheryDemographic: It's becoming fairly obvious that the show has a growing periphery demographic consisting of those who remember the original ''Mister Rogers'' fondly and enjoy seeing the characters again in this new show, parents who have watched the show with their children and found it charming, and adult fans who either didn't really know the original ''Mister Rogers'' show or were only passingly familiar with it, but like the new show. Those who liked ''[[WesternAnimation/BluesClues Blue's Clues]]'' and are aware that the show is being made by the company formed by its creators (and others that are aware it's also made by the folks that brought us ''WesternAnimation/SuperWhy'') may be part of the general mix as well.
* ShockingMoments: In "It's Not OK to Hurt Someone", the character who Daniel wants to hurt is ''Margaret''. For reference, Margaret is only one year old, and Daniel is normally mild-mannered, so it can be quite startling to see him want to hit a baby.
* SpiritualSuccessor: Despite being based off [[Series/MisterRogersNeighborhood an earlier series on]] Creator/PBSKids, ''WesternAnimation/DanielTigersNeighborhood'' is the closest the western world is going to get to seeing ''Anime/ShimaShimaToraNoShimajiro'' on TV, as both are shows about a little tiger boy and his animal friends teaching children life lessons regarding childhood milestones.
* {{Squick}}: All the talk of "going poop" in "Daniel Sits on the Potty", and Daniel and Miss Elaina smelling Margaret's dirty diaper. Especially gross is how in the song, everyone is on the toilet and the lyrics say that they're pooping.
* StrangledByTheRedString: "The Neighborhood Wedding" featured Dr. Anna and Baker Aker getting married. However, prior to this, they never really interacted much or were seen together, aside from background moments in "Calm at the Restaurant" and "Prince Wednesday Gives Away His Book." This make their sudden marriage feel forced. Many people outside of the target audience assumed that Baker Aker [[HopelessSuitor either liked Mom Tiger]] or was gay.
* TheyChangedItNowItSucks:
** Those who remember ''Mister Rogers'' and don't like this show generally believe this. Reasons range from "children need to see real people instead of cartoons" and "it's missing that warmth and magic" to "it's too cartoonish and hyper" and "this is blasphemy! Mister Rogers must be rolling in his grave!".
** Parents and fans disliked the sudden animation change starting with Season 6, feeling that it was rather [[LimitedAnimation limited]] and stiff compared to the more lively previous seasons. The slowed-down dialogue and slightly adjusted character designs have also been subject to criticism.
* TheyWastedAPerfectlyGoodCharacter: In "Margaret's Birthday Party," all of the friends that come over for "Margaret's Birthday Party" are Daniel's friends. Given that this episode was released well after the Platypus family was introduced, couldn't they at least have had Teddy and Leo there so that Margaret could play with someone more her own age?
** The episode could have originally been meant to release in season 3, but due to them already starting the special, they didn't get the chance to release it
