* AlternateCharacterInterpretation: More than a few fans have taken to the idea that Jane was secretly in love with Lalia, hence why she (more or less) put up with her antics.
* AngstWhatAngst / KarmaHoudini: After accidentally burning down a sorority full of partying coeds (who, admittedly, escaped mostly unharmed), Lalia does seem a little guilty about the situation, but she never gets in trouble for it, nor is it ever brought up again.
* ArtMajorBiology: What happens to Lalia's figure after so much wanton, limitless gluttony? A slight potbelly.
* AudienceAlienatingPremise: If you don't have a belly stuffing fetish, most of the fanservice and humor is going to fall flat.
* AwesomeArt: Even people with no interest in belly stuffing admit that the improved artwork is gorgeous.
* BrokenBase: The revival portion of the series. The intention was of course to become near mindless fan service, but not everyone agrees on whether this was a good thing or not.
** In general, the belly stuffing community is split on whether Craving Control was one of the greatest products of its kind, or over-hyped and overblown by fans.
* BaseBreaker: Lalia herself. Was she a charming and gorgeous protagonist, or a ruthlessly selfish person and a horrible friend?
* DesignatedHero: While she's not at all malicious, throughout the comic Lalia ditches her few responsibilities, frustrates and worries her best friend, steals clothing, accidentally burns down a sorority, and does little other than sit around and stuff herself with food.
* DesignatedVillain: Kim is treated as an antagonist because of her attitude, but the worst thing she does is criticize Lalia's carrot cake design. For the brief time where she is genuinely furious at Lalia, she has a good reason (see above).
* FetishFuel: A whole comic about a beautiful coed eating until her belly bulges.
* FetishRetardant: Some fans were put off by Lalia's tongue, which is long enough to scoop up entire slices of pie.
* InternetBackdraft: Lalia's appearance in the attempted prequel series' was met with controversy from fans, as she was depicted in a revealing outfit, but appeared to be as young as twelve. Arthur later explained that she was meant to be a teenager, and had simply overdone her redesign. Nevertheless, he never continued the series'.
* MemeticMutation: People compare Lalia's tongue to Lickitung's.
* Memetic Sex Godess: Lalia, of course.
* OneSceneWonder: Jane's mother, who only appears briefly in the Thanksgiving Special, but quickly comes to appreciate Lalia's hardy appetite. She's responsible for Lalia's biggest belly in the series.
** Lalia's mother only appeared during a single strip, but appears to be the entire reason Lalia became so gluttonous at all.
* ShortLivedBigImpact: While the series was around for a while, there are less than fifty strips in total. And yet, Lalia inspired hoards of fan art, and the comic is well remembered by fans to this day.
** The series' popularity peaked after it was revived on deviantArt, which was overall even shorter.
* TheWoobie: Jane isn't miserable, but thanks to Lalia's overbearing appetite, she spends almost the whole comic in a state of frustration.
* TearJerker: Very likely unintentional, but over the course of the series, Lalia goes from a smart girl with a domineering appetite, to a food obsessed party girl who couldn't care less about her studies.
* TheyWastedAPerfectlyGoodCharacter: Any and all characters aside from Lalia and Jane. And even Jane didn't appear in the four produced pages of The Lap of Luxury.
* TheyWastedAPerfectlyGoodPlot: The original run set up a lot of potential that was brushed away when it was restarted.
