* GameBreaker:
** The robot costume is ridiculously overpowered considering it's the first costume in the game. Has high attack power, a LimitBreak that hits all enemies ''and'' deals burn damage, and is really useful for navigating the map. Really, there's no reason to ''ever'' replace it with any of the other costumes you get.
** The Vampire has decent attack power and a hit all LimitBreak that ''also'' heals the entire team for a decent amount of damage. The only thing that keeps it from replacing the unicorn is the fact that it has no raise effect.
** The T.P. ability line is an ability stamp that allows you to stun enemies for two turns, which is really good for crowd control against higher level enemies.
* GoodBadBugs: The humans who you can trick or treat to say various things before giving you candy. One is a male who accidentally says "My husband said no more kids would come, so here's all the candy." It's now a MemeticMutation that Double Fine supports gay marriage.
* HilariousInHindsight: [[WesternAnimation/MyLittlePonyFriendshipIsMagic My little badass rainbow pony, huh?]]
** The GoodBadBugs example above, with the reveal that ''Massive Chalice'' will have homosexual couples.
** [[spoiler: Bee and Puppycat's cameo in ''2'' has become prophetic now that Federator Studios is planning on releasing an AnimatedAdaptation on Prime Video.]]
* MemeticMutation: DAD TAX.
* ToyShip: Everett and Lucy in Grubbins on Ice. It's teased at the end of the main game, when Lucy calls Everett "babe", to his consternation.
** In ''2'', [[spoiler: They are shown as married adults, and their young daughter Halley becomes the third party member in the future.]]

* AllAnimationIsDisney: People assuming the cartoon is based on or partly inspired by WesternAnimation/GravityFalls, despite none of the production crew crossing over (except for Creator/DigitalEMation, who worked on Season 1 of the latter show) or listing the show as an inspiration.
* {{Squick}}: In ''"Danger Bike Man Rides Again"'' when Everett asks where Reynold is, Wren explains that the pool at the end of the dangerous bike course they built didn't have a filter, [[ForcedTransformation so...]]
* TheyWastedAPerfectlyGoodPlot: Lucy goes into the final showdown with Bob in her Grubbin costume, is surrounded by nougat for the entire fight, but never once thinks to try some and see if she could become a more powerful monster by doing so.
* TheWoobie:
** Reynold, mostly for being a LovableCoward who only mostly takes his sister's jabs in stride.
** Everett where his brother is concerned, slowly realizing that their age gap is making them grow distant from one another.
** Norm once we get to learn more about him. He has an extreme case of IJustWantToHaveFriends, shown in "Baking is Better with Friends" and it's also the reason he can't bear to reveal to the kids [[spoiler:that he's a monster]] in the Mid-Season finale, because the last time he did he was left friendless.
