* ArcFatigue:
** Getting better with the move from 2 updates a week to 3, but the initial story-arc has taken over a year.
** The second arc is considered worse, starting in March 2011 and set to end in January 2014 and burdened with heavy amounts of exposition. Even the author got sick of doing it.
* AssPull: The initial appearance of the fantasy elements is regarded as this, since it showed up so suddenly. It did get a proper explanation after the spanking contest scene had concluded.
* AudienceAlienatingEra: The first major arc, which the majority of people and the author were getting sick of by the end. It was basically trying to move from BDSM-themed comedy to a action movie style, only to be crippled by excessive narration, lackluster action scenes and going on far too long.
* EnsembleDarkhorse: [[FanNickname Epic Moustache & Hat Man]], who has made only a single appearance. Mr. Black is heading in this direction too.
* GrowingTheBeard:
** The first time was when Sixx, Laura and Trina sat down to discuss their actions and the later half of the spank-off, which set the groundwork for developing them into deeper characters.
** The second time is the pony ranch events after the AudienceAlienatingEra, providing a much stronger balance of exposition, bondage play and character interaction.
* SugarWiki/HeartwarmingMoments:
** [[spoiler:Laura insisting that Ginger be accepted by Sixx as Laura's fellow personal slave.]]
** Also, the two instances when Laura's belief in Sixx's love wavers and is promptly reaffirmed by her.
** Strip 100, with the moment of collaring, is also rather sweet.
* MisaimedFandom: Some fans in the forums jokingly suggested that they'd like to find out if their local airport has regular flights to Sybion...
%%* NightmareFuel: The Judiciatrix.
* OneTrueThreesome: To a degree this was a possibility from the beginning, as Laura and Sixx were in a polyamorous relationship, but it became true when Laura insisted that Ginger share the position of personal slave. However, Sixx [[BlatantLies makes it clear]] she does not share Ginger's romantic interest.
* TheWoobie: At least half the cast make a case for Woobie-dom.
** Anya and Alice, who were handed over by their own loved ones to be tortured into the people they were "supposed" to be.
** Gunther, a SympatheticSentientWeapon who was abandoned to bleed to death in the snow when he couldn't suppress his conscience.
** The priest Vertos, who endured both sides of the Order of Denial -- as a 'customer' and as an acolyte [[ForcedIntoEvil forced to torture others]].
** Fiona, a former Phantom whose own government gave her up to be tortured because she knew too much.
** Trina, who lost everything she held dear in a misguided attempt to have just a little of Sixx's love.
** Quite possibly even Michael and Evita Kappel, who didn't ask to have a revolution land on their shoulders or get caught in a global arms race but persisted because they couldn't ignore the suffering all around them. Michael has shades of IronWoobie; Evita borders on WoobieDestroyerOfWorlds [[spoiler: not in herself, but in the evil spirit of vengeance she inadvertently hosted]].
